"Success is not final, Failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continute that counts."

When Natasha and Steve reached Bruce's room, Tony was there and not happy when they came bursting in with an unconscious Peter Parker. "Ok, I was gone for, like, eight minutes!" Tony said, exhasperated. Then he heard a crash and his eyes went wide. "Seriously. Eight minutes."

"Shut up and listen!" Natasha hissed, helping Steve settle the teen in the bed. Even though Nat hadn't wanted Peter to pass out, he looked much more peaceful now. She rested a hand against his forehead before tearing herself back to the present.

"We have a big problem." Steve stated when Tony continued to demand an explanation. "Whatever is crashing through the compound is after Spider-man." Nat finished for him before either of the heroes could layer on anymore dramatics.

"Hell will freeze first." Tony growled determindely, pulling his watch into view. Natasha nodded in agreement and the three dashed into the hallway. They could hear the distinct sounds of fighting, just couldn't see what was happening.

Shortly after they left, none other than Peter woke up slowly. The whole world treated him like the car of a roller coaster for a few minutes before he managed to even out his breathing. Let me tell you, it was not a pleasant experience.

He managed to sit up, thankful that the room he was in was dark and sound proof, and the sheets on top of him were actually light and soft. What had happened? He only remembered blurbs after Nat had helped him sit up in the hallway. Tony came to see him, he remembered that, and then Cap? How did he get...?

Peter's thoughts were painfully interupted by a loud crash as something smashed against the door to Peter's room. He tumbled out of bed, startled and in pain. He was, however, pleased to note that whether it be the room or how long it had lasted, his episode was nearly over.

That fact did not quell the fear of whatever that bang had been. Peter couldn't hear anything else thanks to his soundproof accomadations, but he had a sinking feeling he knew who the attacker wanted. If it was an attacker at all; maybe Tony tripped or something. That was a possibility, right?

Peter decided not to take any chances as he crept to the closet and swung it open. He cursed when all he saw were various sizes of black hoodies and sweatpants. He would have to make do, since he wasn't sure how much time he had. Grabbing a hoodie, Peter yanked it over his head and grabbed a pair of socks. Ripping various holes in said socks, Peter yanked it over his head. It was not a durable mask, but at least it kept the world around him dark and muffled. It was going to work.

Then Peter jumped out the window.

Outside Peter's room, Tony and the remaining-standing Avengers were fighting with a robotic freak. The attacker called himself the Doc, and had eight spindly legs, four of which were made of vibranium. How he got his hands on that stuff, Tony didn't know. He did know Doc had managed to knock out Wanda, Vision, Rhodey, Sam, Bucky and Scott already. Dr. Strange was managing to hold him at bay while Tony, Nat, Clint and Steve got in hits but they were still coming dangerously close to the room Doc didn't know Peter was in. One false move, and the Doc would know exactly where the 'itsy bitsy spider' was.

As it was, Doc had managed to smash Clint against the door, making everyone flinch for more than one reason. Tony really hoped that hadn't woken Peter up.

"Why are you pushing me away, pathetic heroes?" The Doc hissed, his goggles hiding whatever sick expression flashed in his eyes. Nat only then realized they were in the classic position of defense, all their backs to Peter's door. She cursed her own obliviousness and shot as many tranq darts as possible at the jerk. He, in response, merely flicked one of his many arms and smacked them away.

"Can't you hold him still?!" Nat barked at Strange, who scowled in response. "I'm trying, but the metal of his 'arms' seems to be resisting me on its own!"

"It's vibranium!" Steve pointed out, motioning to his own sheild as he blocked an arm with it. "As someone once pointed out, it doesn't obey the laws of physics at all." He looked meanignfully at the room behind them before snapping back to reality. "We have to focus our energy on his torso!"

Clint pulled back an arrow and fired while the others were scheming and effectively distracting Doc - even if they didn't realize it. The arrow exploded in front of the Doc's face, releasing tear gas and making the man screech. "You infernal nuisance!" He screamed, a leg smacking Clint dramatically out a window.

"Clint!" Natasha yelped, and Tony was already shooting out the window after the archer. Dr. Strange used the gas still in the air and trapped it in an invisible bubble around the intruder. He flailed angrily, leaving Natasha and Steve ducking and dodging best they could. When Steve was knocked out, Nat realized this was a losing battle.

Not that she would give up easily.

"You cannot defeat me!" Doc said in protest. "We don't even know who you are!" Nat called back, pulling out her darts and rapid firing them into the smog. "I am the greatest mind you have ever come in contact with. My intellect is unstoppable!" Despite her best efforts, Natasha was caught by an arm and pinned to the wall. Tony and Clint came back in through the window but Doc quickly grabbed Tony's suit. The billionare dropped the archer onto the tiled floors as he was thrown into the ceiling.

"Your IQ levels are not high enough for me to even consider as a formidable foe!" Doc laughed, snaking arms at Clint and Strange as he dropped to his own two feet. He finally caught the archer, and tossed him into the sorcerer, both getting knocked into the wall.

The tear gas bubble around Doc popped, signifying Strange had been knocked out. Doc loomed over a still struggling Natasha as tear gas seeped across the floor.

"You are merely the dirt under my feet."

Whew, ok, little intense there...

I feel like I need to clarify that Loki is no longer in this since I got a comment on that subject so I'm going to do a little time line clarifying:

This is set during Thor Ragnarok, after Homecoming (obviously). The last book was before Thor Ragnarok, this is during, and then INFINITY WAR BOI!!! (so excited)

Ahem, so, I've been focusing on my favorite characters (Natasha, Tony, Steve, Clint, Strange, Wanda, Sam, Bucky and Scott) and I do feel kind of bad for leaving out Vision and Rhodey a lot but YOU KNOW WHAT I DON'T CARE SO HAH. (sorry guys)

Thanks for reading!

Also, has everyone seen The Last Jedi?! Because oh my goodness I saw it, I loved it, and now I'm dead. (Kylo Ren shirtless scene I mean... YAS) IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT I PITY YOU

That's all folks!
