"Inspiration is infrequent."

Peter swung out the lovely hole Shuri's missile made in the window and started towards the site of the comet. Tony was going to kill him. Then Nat. Then Steve. That is, if the comet didn't first.

As soon as Peter was in range, he switched on his comms. Maybe he could avoid the whole thing and get the Avengers to come to him! However, he only recieved static. Radiation disrupted radio waves, right.

Peter finally made it to the crash site, and found the Avengers locked in combat with men in black vibranium woven suits. So they knew it was radioactive - probably because they designed it! Peter searched, but the comet was nowhere to be found. Maybe they sent it off to space? No one really told him their plan in the first place.

"Spiderman?!" Peter saw Wanda turn, holding the foes she was fighting at bay, and staring at him with wide eyes. Her surprise turned to fury and he gave a sheepish wave. Knocking out the baddies with a flick of her wrist, Wanda flew up to where he was perched on the roof. When she landed beside him, Peter felt a slight twang in his torso, as if a phantom pain was building. If she'd been exposed to the comet, could it be sticking to her and affecting him like pollen allergies?

Peter pushed the curiousity from his mind and shot Wanda just as she opened her mouth to berate him. She shrieked at the vial now sticking out of her upper arm as the purple-green liquid entered her blood stream. She reached to yank it out but Peter managed to stop her by grabbing her wrist.

"Wanda, listen, I just spoke to my friend Shuri and she did a scan of the comet and discovered it was radioactive as in it's been orbitting the sun for 12 hours. You've all been poisoned, if exposed, but Shuri managed to make an antidote that should balance out your systems." Peter rambled, until the vial was finally empty. Wanda's eyes widened with each word and she put her hands on Peters shoulders.

"That being said, you should not be here." She quickly shook off the empty vial and steered Peter away from the fight. "Radiation or not, you can get hurt far worse." Peter was starting to understand what she meant; even just walking with her so close to him made him feel lightheaded.

"Alright, then you help me. The comms aren't working so I can't tell everyone what's going on." Wanda nodded at his request and jogged away from him, back to the edge of the building. She had never established a mental link with so many people involved, but it seemed to be the only option left.

Avengers, it's Wanda, please listen. She began, feeling Peter's mind immediately and hearing his shuffle behind her at the oddity of another voice in his brain. It reminded him a lot of Loki, and that was not a good memory.

Steve, Sam, Scott and Clint were easy enough to connect to, she knew them well enough. Vision was harder because his brain was a complicated machine, but she managed. Getting past Tony's suit proved difficult, but not as difficult as getting into Natasha's head - or Dr. Strange's. He was protected by some kind of spell.

Come on guys, I need you all to listen! Finally, Nat let her in, and the assassin punched Strange to get his attention and quickly explain to him Wanda's link. He let her in tentatively soon after.

Ok, first of all, Peter's here. She announced, and Peter uttered a sheepish greeting. You're kidding me, kid. Five minutes we leave you alone! Five!!! Clint growled, elbowing someone in the jaw. Why are you here? Tony asked darkly, and Peter's swallow was nearly audible mentally.

Well I discovered - through Shuri - that the rock is radioactive and can affect all of you but I brought the antidote... Peter tried to explain, but Steve cut him off. Give the antidote to Wanda, and get back to the tower where it's safe. He demanded, and Peter nodded before realizing they couldn't see him. U-uh, yes sir. Peter opened his right webshooter and gave Wanda the vials.

He was about to move to the left, when Wanda pointed behind him and shrieked. Peter spun in time to see about five men wrapped in Wanda's energy and quickly flung off the roof. She doubled over, panting.

"I can't keep up the mental link and fight. I'm going to have to disconnect everyone or..." she was cut off when the two were swarmed on all sides. There were only about four men on each side, but all together the presence was overwhelming. Peter started taking them down and Wanda struggled to do that same - her powers still taxed despite breaking up the link.

And now they had no way of calling for help. You know, except the old fashioned way.

"Uh, help? Help!" Peter cried as the men advanced. How could there already be so many of them? And how come Peter's spidey senses didn't warn him?

When two of them managed to get within 5 feet of Peter, he felt the pains worsen and his knees buckled. Oh great, they'd been exposed to the comet too. Fantastic.

"Wanda!" Peter called to her, trying to tell her what he'd discovered without saying it outloud and showing them his weakness. She spun to him worriedly and managed to clear a path to get to the edge of the roof. She ran to the edge and started waving her arms at Vision and Sam, not to far away. "Help!" She barked, grabbing Visions attention by literally grabbing him in her energy and waving.

Distracted, she didn't see the foe behind her until she'd been knocked out and left free-falling off the roof. "Wanda!" Vision yelped, flying to her side.

That left Peter, by himself, surrounded by men that had debilitating rock dust stuck to them. Did he mention how fantastic this day was turning out to be?

They crowded around him, and Peter felt his muscles weakening. He groaned as his body seemed to turn inside out and shake him around. His vision was swimming, and he hated to imagine what the actual comet could do to him.

Finally, Peter managed to leap off the roof and swing a web, getting away from them and finally being able to breathe. Tony saw him stumble onto a lower roof and glared, flying over.

"Why aren't you home yet?" He growled, and Peter had never been so relieved to be scolded. Tony flew closer, distracted from the fact he literally had the vial with the comet in it in the storage of his suit. "Next time, I'm chaining you to the bed." He grumbled.

When he was close enough to grab Peter, the boys eyes widened and he fainted.

Fan-freaking-tastic.

I liked the bubble-wrap suggestion, might add that in later./
