I am seriously mad about season 6 of race to the edge and you better be too.

She let Hiccup handle it.

She stayed near the back as she tended to do in these situations. Athen wasn't one for...confrontations. Not of this sort. The scarred woman was more used to the fierce opponents who charged at her with sword or axe drawn, not greeted the enemy with a smile and offer of food and drink. It made her feel uncomfortable, all those years of the same some buff bad guy would run at her with a weapon and she would kill them quickly and easily. Done. Finished.

That's why she stayed back.

She didn't understand why the two sat staring at each other for nearly five minutes before Hiccup got to his feet and the two walked out.

"What," she said confused and followed them, flicking the tent door out of the way and following the two at a fast pace out to where the other riders have grouped up now. Astrid rolled her eyes and pulled Hiccup to the side. She could clearly hear her as even though she lowered her voice, it was still quite loud.

"I don't think you ever learn!" she exclaimed and brushed her blonde hair from er face. "Every single time you trust this guy he stabs you in the back again and either take the dragon eye or steals something of ours!" Hiccup sighed and replied.

"I know he's not exactly trustworthy but we need him to get to Krogan's maps. Im, sure he is planning something" the boy said, tapping his metal foot against the ground.

"And why do you think he's up to something now? The guys evil! He's always up to something!" the girl cried.

"Look around Astrid! Do you see any dragon flyers? Any of Krogan's men? Why wasn't he here? this is one of the main camps and he left him here with only a couple tens of hunters". This made Athen stop as well. It was strange, no dragon flyers. Though she herself had only heard about these dragon flyers from her brother and his friend's accounts of their battles with the so-called Krogan. According to Dagur - who she tended to talk to more - The dragon flyers were a legion of dragon hunters who tamed - in the loosest sense- and rode a species of dragon called a Singe-tail. She had seen a Singe-tail once, it had not been a very nice experience.

She was around nineteen, only two years before. She had her dragon for just around a year and that day she had decided to explore a nearby island with Gallows. They were resting on the pristine beach, after a long walk around the island and a small swim in a nice lake they found further inland. The island was nice enough, the woman and her dragon had had a small run-in with a pack of nadders but nothing they the two couldn't handle. Now here, relaxing on the beach and looking over the waves everything seemed peaceful and nice, that was until her keen nose picked up the distinct smell of smoke.

Her eyes were already open and she ran her way quickly to her silver dragon, whose scales clicked with nervousness as the two took to the sky and looked other the island. The north blowing wind was blowing the thick black smoke towards them as they swerved to avoid the sparks and fingers of flames that was spreading quickly along the island, jumping like rabbits from tree to tree, engulfing the forest in red and orange flames.

Athen coughed and her yellow-eyed dragon took further into the sky, Athens sharp blue eyes scanned the island, spying a place where the fire was thickest. Clearly where it had begun. She directed Gallows towards the source of the flames, with Gallows quick reflexes they were able to avoid getting to near the orange ribbons of fire. When the two finally reached the source of the raging fire, flying a few feet off the ground was a fully red dragon, two sets of wings on its back kept it in the air with strong wing beats. Its head was large and curved, constantly shooting red-hot balls of fire into the trees of the island. Suddenly it seemed to spot them and its eyes swivelled, seeing her over its shoulder, its long tail flicked and a fireball suddenly shot towards them. Athen's eyes were wide and she seemed frozen in place, but Gallows had other ideas. The silver beast dived to avoid the flames and bolted out to see, leaving the large fire dragon to itself on the burning island.

Hiccup and Astrid returning to the group broke her from her memories. She still had a hand on the dagger on her belt, carefully watching the dragon hunter as he and Hiccup talked. The heir of berk then turned her and the other dragon riders.

"According to Viggo, Krogan is planning something against the edge, everyone saddle up because we need to head back now," he said in a strong voice.

"Really?" Tuffnut whined from the back of the group, they all turned and it seemed that the twins and her little brother had found the food storage of the camp. Layed out on a table was a large assortment of food and drink.

"Why do you still work with them? Honestly" she rolled her blue eyes and walked towards Gallows, who had found a barrel of fish.

"Gallows, come on, we have to go back to the edge," she said, getting into the saddle on the silver metal like dragon. Gallows let out a growl of annoyance and unfolded his wings, shaking them out and preparing to take off.

"Uhh, Athen?" Hiccup called from the other side of the open space. The black haired girl rolled her eyes and a sigh escaped her lips.

"Yes Hiccup?" she asked annoyed and crossed her arms over her chest and walking back over to the others so that she would not have to yell replys. Hiccup looked hesitant for a moment before gesturing to Viggo.

"Can you take him please, Toothless doesn't need to extra weight alongside the supplies he's got" The brown boy spoke. Toothless was carrying some food and gold that the others had collected, a few of the other dragons had the baskets of them as well. Seems the heir did not want to leave anything for people to loot. Athen looked the hunter up and down before shrugging her shoulders.

"Fine, but if he tries anything im throwing him into the ocean" she growled and marched back to her dragon.

"I assure you I will be of no trouble" the man assured, following her over to Gallows.

"Oh and don't try to talk to me because I won't answer," she said, waiting for him to get on the dragon before the group took to the air and began their journey back to Dragons Edge.
