DONT START THE MUSIC TIL I TELL YOU, ITS THERE FOR DRAMAAAAA.
Well; I wrote this and then was not happy with it so I came back the next day and wrote it. Remeber to leave some comments with questions for the characters. Im really glad you guys like this story!
But guys, my poor heart. This chapter almost broke me cause like, listening to sad music while writing makes everything ten times sadder.
This chapter is most likely the longest one I will write, *sigh*
BE SURE TO READ WHAT IS WRITTEN AT THE END OF THE CHAPTER AS IT IS VERY HELPFUL FOR THE STORY AND ANSWERING SOME QUESTIONS.
So grab some tissues, your popcorn and deal with the emotional mess that I wrote over three days.
Athen went to fit the book carefully back on the shelf before choosing otherwise and tucking the leather bound book into her coat pocket. Just as she turned to open the wooden door it was pushed open from the outside, the door almost knocking Athen in the face. Snotlout stood there."Hunter ships are coming!" He stated and hauled her outside. She shifted him off her arm and seized the spyglass from his hand, raising the concentrated glass to her eye and peering over onto the horizon. Her brother was correct. On the edge of sight, an armada of hunter ships was making their way towards the edge. A legion of Singe-Tail's flew ahead of the vessels. They would not be able to defend against the forces that they could see.
"All the defences are set up, those flyers are getting really close!" her brother exclaimed and the two siblings ran to their dragons, climbing into the saddle and taking into the wind just as the first flyers fired onto where they were once standing. The spare hut groaned and swaggered for a time before it fell down into the cove as the foundations were burnt to a crisp and crumbled under the weight of the hut. Athen had no time to mourn the house or even be stunned as the Flyers forced their dragons to blast a volley of fireballs at the two.
Hookfang absorbed the fire into his own fireball and sent it back at the flyers, while Gallows let out a shriek and dived, dodging the searing flames before sending a reply in a large blue explosion. The rider fell from his dragon and the Singe-tail flew quickly away from the island. Gallows send another blast towards the flyers but the dragon shook it off and the Flyers began to attack with more ferocity than ever.
As Athen and her brother evaded the attacks of the flyers they were soon joined by the twins. Thier hair was covered in soot - as it always seemed to be lately - It was clear where the soot had come from as their shared house was burning brightly.
"This is awesome!" Athen glared at Tuffnut. "I mean not like Awesome awesome, but like...cool? No?" The woman reminded herself to punch him off a cliff when she got a chance.
"Yeah, those hunter ships are coming closer !" Ruffnut yelled it appeared she had no inside voice. Athen's mind whirled as she tried to think of a plan to go against these hunters.
"We need to take out the ships! Otherwise, the when the flyers are gone we'll be knocked from the sky!' Athen yelled. Snotlout gave her a weird look.
"Are you sure about that!" Snotlout yelled over the sounds of fire and wingbeats. Athen wished she was and the dragon riders dived, blasting fire at the boats. The riders managed to bring down two of the somewhat smaller ships before regrouping at cloud level. Athen removed an arrow from her armour with a quick pull and the twins managed to dislodge the one that was stuck in Ruffnuts saddle.
