Chapter 11

I ended up spending the day binge watching a bunch of different anime I've been meaning to get to. At some point, during ancient magus bride, maze joined me. " why do you watch this stuff?" She asks "why did you sit down to watch it?" I answer "it seemed interesting." She answers "that's why I watch it." "Let me rephrase that. How did you start watching this stuff?" She asks. I have to think for a while. "Well, when I was in high school I had a friend who was nuts for this stuff. She kept trying to get me to watch at least one series and one day I caved. I always assumed anime was for children until I actually watched anime. Sure some are aimed at children but the majority are just not suitable. So ever since then I've only grown to become an enormous nerd. And I quite enjoy my nerdy ways." I answer. She seems to accept this answer as though she was expecting some weird story. Just then Lucifer comes in from his day with helping Chloe. "Hey." I greet not turning away from the tv. "Why are you watching cartoons with subtitles?" He asks me and maze both sush him. Honestly she's more into this than I am. "Why am I to be quite if your reading what they're saying?" He asks I roll my eyes and turn to him "for your information I'm actually fluent in Japanese as well as several languages
. I don't need the subtitles they're just there." I say and return to the show. "Seriously?" He asks only to be by maze and I again.

When the episode ends I turn to Lucifer who's making himself a drink at his living room bar. "Any news on Stacy's case?" I ask "I'm allowed to speak now?" He asks "considering my question has to do with my wellbeing, Yes." I answer. He seems hesitant to answer I can tell what that means. "Who was it?" "Fiona." He answers. First Makenzey, now Fiona. That just leaves me and Emma. "I'll be right back." I say and head to my room. I pick up my phone to see I've got missed calls from an unknown number. I call the number back fairly certain I know who it is. "Angela?!?" A voice answers "Hey, Emma." I say "thank god! I thought you were dead too." She says "glad to hear your alive too. How are you holding up considering?" "I'm staying with my parents and I've stopped going out. You?" She asks "I'm staying with some friends. But make sure I'm never alone outside the apartment." I explain. "Your braver than I am. I won't even leave for work." She answers. "Well I have to work to pay for the tires you all slashed." I say "we never slashed any tires. I know we were assholes but we're not absolute pieces of shit." She says. "Oh! Sorry for assuming." I say "don't be after stealing your things I would assume it was us too." It's silent for a moment. "You still there?" She asks. "Yeah just thinking..... can I call you back in five ten minutes?" I ask "sure." She says and I hang up the phone. I rush back out to the living room. "Lulu!!" I say "would you stop calling me that?" He answers "is it cool if emma comes here?" You ask "who's Emma?" "She's the other one of Stacy's friends that's till alive." "Why would you want her here?" He asks confused "because if the killer is someone who knows us they know where we live. I'm only safe because you're letting me stay here." I explain. "I don't have any room for another guest." He protests "I'm sorry. Correct me if I'm wrong but you had about 4 other 'guests' here just the other night." I argue "that's a different kind of guest as you know. Besides isn't this one of the girls who stole your things and slashed Your tires?" "She said it wasn't them." I say "and what if she's the one on the killing spree?!?" He says clearly getting annoyed. "She was terrified on the phone she's not a killer! She is scarred and alone!" I argue. "I don't care what she is! This isn't whiteness protection!" He yells. I hate that he's right but maybe she can stay with Jace. I go back to my room and text him.

Thankfully he says he doesn't mind but I owe him a second date which I was happy to agree to. I call Emma and let her know jace said she can stay with him. And she's super thankful, the hard part is getting Lucifer to let me use his car to drive her there. "No." He says "oh come on! She's in as much danger as I am. If you don't let me I'll just walk." I say "by yourself?" He says "no maze agreed to go with me." I say. He sighs but throws me the keys saying "Fine." "Thank you!!!" I say and grab my jacket before meeting maze at the car. "Wait he's actually letting you drive?" She asks as I walk over to her at the car. "Yup. Now let's go Emma is waiting." I say
