Reqiuem for the Earth

You cannot see it
But it is there.
Though you cannot touch it
If only you would care
Though I suppose we are far,
Much too far gone
To do anything anyway.
What if we changed everything right now?
Would that help?
Well, it may,
But we are too near-sighted
And dwell too much on the past
If we turned around we'd see
The future coming fast

A festering fungus filling our cities
Out of sight, lurking beneath
Hidden from sight in our disconnect
Daring to dwell underneath
Of our understanding.
We struggle to understand what we cannot see
So until our minds can break free
We will always fail to understand
We are the disease of the Great Turtle's land.

Opportunistic parasites
But we have broken one rule
We are slowly killing our host

In a manner unusual and cruel.

The death of the Earth is too slow to see.

Which we cannot see
But the choices that we make today
Prevent tomorrow
From being free

Though we may try,

All will die

When

All
Falls

Into

Chaos.

When the

Earth

Falls

Into

Chaos.
