Chapter 5

Elise landed ungently on the ground.
The light was gone.
Both of her friends were laying next to her. Kanae was leaning against the tree, watching them. She was on a open plain, watching the sun going slowly down.

''Where are we and how did we get here?'' ,Nicole asked skeptically, skinful to her. ''I've brought you here,  to a certain degree we are in a safe zone. We should be safe here for the next few hours.'' Nicole looked still suspiciously, but didn't say a word. ''Who were the others, we  were fleeing from?'' ,Sarah asked scared. ''They were another team with other members'', Kanae explained.

''Wait, WHAT!? There are other players here?'', Nicola shouted, looking at Kanae,'' you could have  told us before we got here!'' Nicole was pissed and it seemed that she wanted to hit hit Kanae. ''I should have stayed at home, I can't handle this shit! I am going now!'', with these words she turned, walking away from them. Sahra followed her. They were going towards the forest.

''Hey guys, wait'', Elise screamed at them, you can't just go away!'' Elise wanted to go after them while suddenly a brittle voice stopped her: ''It's useless to go after them,'' the first time the foreign girl said something, ''they will return when they have caught up with themselves again. The same thing happened to us.'' A sad expression lay on the face of the girl. Elise asked herself what terrible things they've probably experienced.

What's  your name?, Elise asked, due to the fact that she didn't know her name yet.
''Diane", she answered.
''How have you been trapped in this game?, Elise asked curiously, however, she was interrupted by the hem of Kanae. ''It would be a better idea to stop your lovely conversation and get some sleep'', Kanae said edgy, ''your gossip doesn't  bring us further.''

Now she really felt how tired she actually was. She decided to accept Kanaes idea, to get some sleep. After a while of rolling on the uncomfortable ground she finally fell asleep.

She woke up, several hours later, bathed in sweat from her light sleep. She didn't know the reason why she woke up from her sleep, but she knew that she wouldn't go to sleep anymore. It was extremely hot. It felt like her whole body was on fire.

Elise looked around and saw Diane and Kanae,sleeping firmly and deeply. She decided to stand up.

Her legs were automatically carrying her into the forest. it was colder under shadows of the trees, which helped her feeling way better. She went deeper into the forest. Suddenly she heard a scream. She froze. She knew this voice. It was Sahra. Without thinking twice she ran to the direction of the scream, not knowing what happened.
