One Day at a time is a Netflix original show and it is amazing.
It's about this Cuban family and their life I guess is the best way to describe it. The mom is a veteran who served in Afghanistan who divorced her husband (also a veteran) because he had a drinking problem. The daughter is a teenage feminist lesbian and the son is a preteen who is popular and likes sports. There is also the grandmother who is Catholic and had to flee Cuba without her family when she was young.
This show talks about all kinds of important issues such as sexism, racism, alcoholism, PTSD, suicide (kind of), illegal immigration, and depression. It's such a good show and it's pretty educational about like the issues it covers and stuff. It's a really good show and I highly recommend it.
