Come Back To Me

"Are you sure this will work?" I ask, fidgeting in the cold humid air, eyes staring at the screen in front of me.

"Of course, Mitch don't worry." Seto says. I still talk to him, even if not often. But he was the only wizard I knew.

"Thank you, so much..." I trail off.

"SETO! WHERE IS THE FICKLED FROG FEET?!" Brice shouts in the background.

"Gotta go. See ya, Mitch!"

He ends the Skype call and I pocket my phone, looking at the bottle in my hand.

"Please work..." I mumble.

~~~~~~~
I make my way to stone monument, blind in the pitch black night.
With no moon to guide me, I stumble around, barely catching myself.
The stars aren't visible because of the thick tree canopy above me.
I duck and dive, narrowly avoiding branches and tree roots.
And then I see the clearing.
A tall statue standing in possibly the only light in the forest.
I grin at the possible joy this small bottle could give me.
I kneel, set down the bottle, and begin digging with my bare hands.
Five minutes later, my hands hit wood.
I grimly brush off the remaining dirt and stare at the casket in front of me.
I pray to a god I don't believe in, and remove the top layer.
My best friend, only love, laying there.
His furry paws crossed on his chest, eyes closed peacefully with a small smile.
I choke back a sob and look away, blinking away tears.
It had only been six hours since the incident.
Five since he'd been buried.
One since I'd stopped crying and shaking.
I look back towards my best friend and nearly began crying again when I saw the scar across his neck.
They sewed his head back on after...
I gripped the bottle tightly and shakily opened it.
"Please, Jerome..." I croaked.
I poured it on his scar, and more on his heart.
The light grey liquid was absorbed into his dark brown fur and I sat, stonefaced, praying for something to happen.
If there is a god, please. PLEASE give me my best friend back. I love him and he never knew...Come back to me.
Suddenly a bright green light flashed from in front of me.
Jerome's body was slowly lifted up from his coffin and hoisted into the air.
His entire body, covered in light, slowly began to change.
He went from my bacca to a zombie pigman wielding a golden sword.
He was then put back on the ground, where he fell onto his ass.
I laughed through my tears and crawled over to him.
"B...Biggums?" he croaked.
I nodded, still laughing and crying.
We both sobbed, grabbing each other and hugging intensely.
