"Lia why didn't you tell us you were pregnant?" I asked as i sat up.

Again she tried to shrug her shoulders but failed because of the neck brace.

"I found out last minute that I was pregnant and I was in shock. How would you feel if you were told you couldn't get pregnant and then you're unintentionally pregnant? It didn't seem real." She explained to me.

I'm pretty sure it was all too surreal for her and she didn't know who to turn to.

"Damn I thought I would be the one to get you pregnant." Alex said jokingly.

"Alex the only person you're gonna end up getting pregnant is Abigail if you keep fucking her unprotected." Lia rolled her eyes.

That immediately shut him up.

"Alex can I be alone with Lia right now?" I asked.

He nodded his head quickly and then left the room swiftly.

"How are you feeling Lia?" I asked her.

"I just want the pain to stop." She sighed.

I couldn't help but feel my eyes began to water as I held her hand tighter.

"Lia I'm so sorry, I never want to lose you, plesse don't leave me." I pleaded with her.

If she was thinking suicidal thoughts than I didn't want her to do anything severe to herself.

She studied my face in confusion and then her eyes got wide.

"No no Clarity the pain in my neck and the rest of my body. Cause ya know I got hit by a car so everything still hurts. I'm not suicidal." She smiled weakly.

I still didn't want her to leave me.

"Oh okay, I still don't want you to leave me." I smiled sheepishly.

"Well the good thing about getting hit by a car and nearly dying is that my mother is a whole different person to me." She smiled.

"So you guys are on good terms?"

"No." The smile disappeared from her face.

"But I thou-"

"She lied to me and has been verbally abusing me all these years, I love her with all my heart but she still hurt me." She snapped.

We stayed silent for what seemed like forever. Pain and hurt has been the only thing that Lia has known for the longest whether she wants to accept it or not. I want things to be better for her.

I'm going to make things better for her.

"Cecelia." I turned to her and said her name.

"You know I hate the way you say my full name, you make it sound like a great Aunt's name." She chuckled.

"I want to make you feel so much better." I told her.

"Sex would be nice but my neck is broken."

I rolled my eyes but couldn't help but smile. I looked down at her face and noticed her beautiful smile. Even with the black eye, cuts and bruises on her face, she was still the most beautiful person on Earth to me.

I leaned down to her ear and felt her shiver.

"Watch when the neck brace comes off." I whispered in her ear.

I brought my head back up and watched as her eyes nearly popped out her head as she continued to stare at me.

There was a quiet knock on the door and Alex's head popped into the doorway.

"Her mother and sister would still like to see her." Alex said.

I frowned and then turned to her. I kissed her forehead and gave her hand a slight squeeze before I let go.

"Ill visit you everyday and I promise things will be different." I smiled as I got off the bed.

"Clarity wait." Lia said.
I turned around and noticed she was staring at me with a serious expression.

"There was something I always wanted to tell ypu but I never wanted to come off as weird or dumb but I can't hold back anymore." Lia sighed.

"What is it?" I asked.

"......you have nice hands."

"Bitch." I rolled my eyes but then smiled. At least Lia was slowly going back to her old self.

"I am so serious, I love a girl with great hands, I mean I would still love you if you didn't have great hands but you would have to wear gloves all the time." Lia laughed.

I couldn't help but laugh. It was so stupid but this was Lia, and that was her humor. It may be a little stupid but at least she's coming back.

I shook my head and smiled as I closed the door. I walked over to Abigail and her mother and signaled that they could visit her now.

"Well you were in there for a while." Alex smirked at me.

"We were just talking." I shrugged my shoulders.

"Well its not like you can do anything else with her broken neck." Alex laughed.

I punched him in the arm and frowned at him.

"Calm down im teasing, have some clarity in your life." Alex laughed some more.

I just stood there as he laughed at his own stupid joke that Ive heard a million times from other people.

It wasn't funny.

"Wait wait I have another one. Since your dad's last name is Winters would that make him old man winter?" Alex clutched his stomach as he doubled over in laughter.

"Done yet?" I asked.

"Wait wait one more, you and Lia should have two children, name one spring and name the other Autumn." Alex giggled.

"No way in hell." I grumbled.

"Come on at least Autumn, that's actually a nice name." He nudged me.

I rolled my eyes and began walking to the exit.

"I don't understand why you're walking so fast since I drove you here." He jogged to catch up to me.

"You're so annoying."

"Annoyingly cute."

"You're not cute."

Alex placed his hand over his heart and gave me the sadness look on his face that almost broke my heart.

Almost.

"Abigail always calls me cute." He said.

"Yeah well im not Abigail." I rolled my eyes and got in the car.

"Lia said if she were straight she would date me so I think im cute enough."

"Well Lia is as straight as the sides of a circle."
