Chapter 3: The Party

Apple started to do my makeup. She put

a spelltacular shade of purple on my eyes. I painted my lips a dark plum color.

"You look hexcellent," Apple said.

"Thanks Apple."

"Did you pick out a dress?" Apple asked

"Yes, Maddie bought it for me a week ago."

I went to my closet and showed it to

Apple. It was a light purple with strokes of silver. The bottom was poofy and had a few black designs on the bottom. It was also strapless.

"I think it's hexcellent!" Apple squealed.

I headed to the bathroom and changed. The dress was a bit itchy. It was also a tad tight.

"Perfect!" Apple said."Let's go."

I grabbed my mirrorphone and turned off the lights.

We went down the hall and into castleteria. Most of the tables were gone. It was large enough to fit about the entire school.

There were many colorful lights, there

was also a huge disco ball. Melody Piper was mixing some music. There was a table with snacks and a huge bowl of punch. The music wasn't too loud. It was soft enough to have a conversation.

"Hi Raven! Wanna join us?" Cedar asked.

"Sure."

She led me to a table. I saw Maddie and Cerise.

"Raven! It's teariffic you're here!" Maddie said.

"Hi," Cerise said shyly.

"Hey guys," I said. "I'm just gonna go get some punch brb."

I went towards the bowl of punch. I got a plastic

cup and poured some punch in it. I walked to the table. As I was walking, I bumped into someone. At first, I wasn't sure who, but then I realized that it was Dexter. I got fruit punch all over his clothes.

"Oh, I'm sorry," I said embarrassed.

"No, it's okay,"he responded.

"Here, I'll clean it up for you."

I got a couple of napkins and started to clean the stain.

"Raven, you don't have to do that."

"Come on, it was clearly my fault."

At that time, Cupid went to talk to

Cedar. She had something in her hand. It was pink and in the shape of a heart. She wore a pink and white chiton. Her wings were covered in a little bit of glue.

"Hi Cedar, have you seen Dexter?" she asked.

"Oh, he's over by the snack table."

"Ok thanks."

She walked towards us.

I kept on trying to clean his shirt. He looked down at me. He smiled. Our eyes met.

"Raven, can can I ask you something?" he asked nervously.

"Go ahead."

"Uh, w-will you um, go out with me?"

The music stopped playing.

"Wait, did you just ask me out?"

"I guess I did."

My heart fluttered. I smiled. "Yes I would love to go out with you.

He smiled and kissed me on the cheek.

I saw Cupid crying. She dropped the heart

shaped paper. She rushed outside. She wept and covered her eyes with her hands. I leaned to see what the paper had. It was a collage. It had pictures of Dexter and her. In the middle, it had a cursive writing. It read: TO THE BEST GUY EVER AFTER. I felt a little sad for her.

Daring called Dexter over. He gave me a hug and left.

At that time, Maddie came over to me.

"Yay! I can't believe that you guys are going out. You guys will make a hat-tastic couple!"

"Yes but, Cupid seems a little sad about it."

"Don't worry, she'll get over him."

"You think so?"

"Totally!"

I saw Duchess by the stage. She had a bandage on her forehead. She made eye contact with me.

"You!" Duchess yelled at me. "What are you doing here?!"

"I was invited by Apple."

"Whatever. Anyways, I have a special surprise for you!" she yelled.

She grabbed the bowl of punch and poured it all over me. Everyone laughed again. Apple ran to me.

"Raven, are you okay?" she asked me.

"Yes don't worry." I tried to hide my temper.

"Duchess stop it! Raven didn't do anything to start it."

"Yeah, and who invited you to my party?" Briar sassed.

"Psh. Whatever."

She left.

"Come on Raven, I'll find you a new dress.
