Chapter 5: In The Party Again

We went outside our dorm. We made our way

to the party. I was nervous. What if people made fun of me for dating a royal. Or worse, what if people hated me for dating Dexter. I shook the thought out of my head. Ashlynn and Hunter are dating, I shouldn't worry.

"So um, h-how was your day?" he asked nervously.

"Well, Duchess did embarrass me in front of everyone,"I replied.

"Oh um, right. I kinda forgot."

I felt a little bad for Dex. He seemed so nervous.

His lips were quivering and he was a little sweaty. He held my hand and then let go immediately.

"Whoa, are you okay?" I asked.

"Actually, I'm a little nervous hanging out with you," he said smiling nervously.

"Don't worry once you get used to me, you won't be nervous."

We spent most of the way talking about

ourselves. He seemed to start getting used to me. We were finally in front of the entrance. I took a deep breath and went inside the castleteria. Melody Piper was still mixing music.

"Raven!" Maddie yelled.

"You can go if you want to," Dexter said.

"Okay, I'll meet you when Melody plays a slow song."

He smiled then left.

Maddie patted the empty chair next to her.

I sat down. Maddie took a forkful of cake and stuffed it in her mouth. Oddly, she also ate the fork.

"How did you do that?" I asked her.

"Mmph mmph mmph mmmph," she tried to say, but she hadn't swallowed the piece of cake.

"What?" I asked.

"Maddie, you forgot you still have cake inside your mouth," Cedar reminded her.

She nodded and then swallowed.

"I said, since I've never tried it before, then I don't know if it's impossible yet. I might not be able to do this again though," she said a little fast.

"Anyways, has anyone seen Cupid lately? I want to make sure that she's not mad at me," I asked.

"She's probably in her dorm," Cerise said.

"Should I go check?" I asked.

"What about the slow song?" Maddie asked.

"How did you know about that? I never told you."

"I overheard you talking to Dexter."

"Fine, I guess I'll go later," I said.

Melody stopped deejaying. She grabbed

the mic. It gave a feedback.

"Alright Ever After High, now we're gonna take things slow."

Melody grabbed another CD and started

to play a slow love song. Some people scattered around to find their dance partners. I saw Apple dancing with Daring, and Ashlynn dancing with Hunter.

"There you are," Dexter said. "Um, do you wanna dance?"

"I would like to."

His beautiful blue eyes lit up. He smiled,

revealing two perfect dimples. He put his arms around my waist as I put mine around his neck. I blushed.

"Wait, I'm not a really good dancer," I said.

"Don't worry, just follow my moves," he said.

He started to dance. I tried to copy him.

I started to get used to the way he danced. I rested my head on his shoulder. Apple and Daring danced while looking into each other's eyes. I couldn't see Ashlynn and Hunter very well. I looked at Maddie. She was talking to Cupid.

"It's so nice seeing some people dancing with each other," Cupid told Maddie.

"Yeah, especially Raven and Dexter," Maddie said while dancing with Earl Grey, her dorm mouse.

"Wait what?!" she whisper-yelled.

Maddie pointed towards us.

I gulped.

"You're actually a good dancer," Dexter told me.

"Really?" I lifted my head off of his shoulder. Instead, I was looking directly at him.

He chuckled. His dimples were just adorable!

I wrapped my arms tighter around his neck. I leaned towards him and pressed my lips on his. He was surprised but then, he closed his eyes.

"No way! Raven is kissing Dexter!" Cupid yelled. She put her hands on her mouth as if she accidentally yelled it.

I jumped back in surprise. Everyone stopped

what they were doing and looked at us.

"Sorry Dex," I said blushing.

"Don't worry I actually liked it," he said.

Every one looked at us. The music stopped,

and some people were muttering something about us. Cupid ran away again.

"Cupid wait!" I yelled as I chased her.

"Whatever, I'm leaving," Blondie said.

Everyone started to leave. Daring came up

to Dexter and said," A royal like you shouldn't be dating a rebel like her. I am disappointed in you." Daring fled. Dexter stood there, thinking about what had happened.
