~Chapter 12~

Your Pov:

I was on patrol the next day while Gene was wondering around trying to get the others acceptance but from what I saw it wasn't going well. "Maybe we should run" I mumbled "Y/n!" Someone called, my head shot over to the voice and it was lord Aphmau. 

"Hello Aphmau, is there something you need?" I asked "Yeah. Has Gene ever heard you sing?" She asked getting excited. "No. Why?" I asked confused "Then you should sing a song tonight in the plaza for the party that's being held there tonight" She explained, I almost forgot about the party tonight. 

"So? Will you do it?" She asked. According to everyone, I was the best singer in the village but I don't believe them. "Sure. But I'm going to need someone for backup vocals" I replied. "I'll get Katelyn to help you out. Thanks, Y/n!" She chuckled before running off.

I went to meet back up with Gene "What the hell have I gotten myself into?" I sighed. "Hey Y/n, hows patrol going?" Gene asked walking over to me and snapping me back to reality. "It's going well. How are you doing?" I asked. "Could be better... but I've gotten a few people's acceptance" He replied.

"That's great! I was thinking about what you said... about running away.." I began "Oh yeah... that..." he sighed. "Tomorrow night we'll leave" I finished "Your serious?" He asked and I nodded. "We'll leave and find a new place where people don't know us and we'll start a new life, and if the other's come after us then we'll tell them the truth" I explained and he nodded. "Okay," he said.

"Great. Now I have to go get ready for tonight, I have to sing at the party tonight at the plaza" I shrugged. "I'll be cheering for you" he chuckled. I laughed kissing his cheek. "Okay. You should get ready too" I replied before leaving.

~Timeskip~

I stood behind a tree behind the stage in my f/c gown that Cadenza made me with my h/c down and loose. I stood with Katelyn. "I'm nervous" I sighed "I am too but we can do this" Katelyn said, other than my twin brother Katelyn was my best friend in the entire village. "You're right Kate" I laughed before we were call up on stage. The music started playing and I started singing.

We finished singing and everyone cheered, I looked around and saw Gene and my brothers going insane at the back. I laughed and when Katelyn saw she laughed too as we got off stage and went over to the group of girls who were waiting for us. We talked for a few minutes before the guys came over being led by Garroth.

"That was great you guys!" Garroth laughed. "I have to admit that was amazing" Gene added and I blushed. "Thanks you guys" I replied chuckling a bit. I looked at Gene and smiled. He smiled back and we wandered off from the group before Gene kissed me and I kissed back.

"You were great" He chuckled "Thanks..." I sighed. "What's wrong?" He asked concerned "Just a little nervous about running away" I replied. "I know I am too. Mainly because of your friends and family but this is a great way to start a new life for the both of us like you said" he said. "Your right, let's go pack up so we're ready for tomorrow" I chuckled and we went back to my place but neither of us knew we were being watched by someone in the shadows.
