Bonnie's POV -

"Where is she?!" I practically shout at the receptionist as I skid to a halt in front of her desk.

"What's your name, sir?" She questions me while seeming remarkable unfazed by my passive aggressive outburst.

"Gold. Bonnie Gold. My wife, Clara was bought here with a gunshot wound" I gasp out as I lean on the desk and attempt to regain my breath.

"Alright sir, she's in the second treatment bay" the woman informs me after a few moments.

"Thank you" I nod to her once before moving quickly down the corridor, pushing through the group's of people mulling around in the way.

I knock loudly on the door in case they're treating her and wait impatiently for someone to invite me in.

No one answers.

I knock again.

Then the door opens slightly and a nurse stands in the gap so I can't see passed her.

"Where's my wife?" I demand as I try to peer over the nurses shoulder but she blocks my attempts and a frown envelopes her features.

"I'm sorry, but Clara's dead" her voice sounds confident but I can hear the sorrow in it as her eyes stare at me pitifully.

Everything stops as I feel the most horrific pain in my chest. I vaguely hear someone shouting my name as I collapse onto my knees, the world around my slowing down.

"You're alright, Bonnie. You're okay" I hear my father's voice in my ear as his arms wrap around me. I can hear the devastation in his voice as he speaks.

I shake my head rapidly and shove my father away, scrambling to my feet I barely register the Shelby's standing there in various stages of grief.

"No. No, it's not alright. She can't be dead. I need her. I can't be without her" I mumble incoherently as I stumble through the doors to her bedside.

"Clara, love. Please wake up" I beg as I grasp her cold hand in mine and kneel beside her.

She doesn't respond and instead looks rather peaceful, much more so than I would expect after suffering such a violent death.

"Please, love. Please don't leave me" I sob desperately as I lean forwards and gently kiss her knuckles before resting my forehead on her side.

"Time of death, ten forty-five am" a new voice speaks lowly from the other side of the room.

I jump and jolt away from her body and look up to find a solemn looking man dressed in all black with a blank expression on his face holding a pocket watch and a clipboard.

I hadn't seen him when I entered the room and quite frankly I don't want to see him ever again.

And then his words fully absorb and I cry out as I feel another rip in my heart. She's gone. Forever. And she's never coming back.

"I love you" I gasp between sobs as my father once again pulls me into his tight embrace.

And then one by one the Shelby's enter the room to pay their respects.

I catch Ada staring at her face with forlorn expression and something inside me snaps.

"Stop it. Don't look at her like that" I snarl harshly at her, Ada jumps slightly and edges closer to Arthur who rubs her arm reassuringly.

"Its alright, Bonnie. She didn't mean it, she's just upset, as we all are. Every one loved her, you know" Arthur speaks gently as he casts a sad look down at Clara.

Once the Shelby's leave my father stays a little while longer to make sure I'm alright.

"Will you be alright if I go back home and inform the rest of the family? I'll be back shortly to pick you up, if you want?" He asks me.

I shake my head slightly and turn my gaze away from Clara to him.

"I don't want to go home. I'm not leaving her" I firmly state. He nods in understanding before rising and leaving me alone in the room.

"Clara, love. I know you can't hear me but I want you to know that even in death you're the most beautiful woman I have ever layed eyes on and I know that I shall never ever get over this. I love you, more than anything on this earth and I'll never forgive myself for this for as long as I live" I pour what's left of the heart I once had into my words as I lean up and lay a soft kiss on her cold lips.

"Until we meet again, my love" I whisper before slowly departing from the room.

Sorry that this took so long, I've been weighed down with college work and a whole host of other issues.

Hope you enjoyed it and I'm sorry if it's a little too sad I felt like I'd been being too happy with my imagines and felt that something needed to be done about it.

Some readers may recognise that the part where he kneels beside her and begs her to wake up is based off Sybil's death in Downton Abbey where Branson is begging for her to wake up.
