I was digging graves with Glenn, Axel, Oscar.

"Hey I think Hershel looking for you," I said pointing to the gates.

"Be right back" said Glenn handing me the shovel.

I dug, even more, when I saw Carl from a distance.

Poor Carl lost Lori and I have no words to comfort him.

"He's your best friend?" said Oscar

"Huh? Oh yeah. We've been through a lot but this one hit home"

"Maybe talk to him?" said Axel giving me a small smile.

"Later. We have to bury our people"

I walked through the cell blocks looking for Carl.

I wasn't looking where I was going when I bumped into someone, Beth.

"Sorry, Bethy!"

"It's okay," responded Beth

"Hey, have you seen Carl? I want to talk to him."

"I think he's up there," said Beth pointing to a cell.

"Okay thanks"

I went up the stairs and went to the cell.

"Carl?"

Silence is all I got from him.

I went into the cell block and sat next to him.

"Carl I'm sorry. I know it's tough but I'm here for you"

"I had to shoot her," said Carl with a raspy voice.

"I know. I'm sorry."

"Don't be. I had to be the one," responded Carl

"Carl I don't have words to say. But I'm sorry for your loss. I loved Lori she was nice to me and always had girl talk"

I heard Carl sniff and I grabbed his hand.

I turned to face him and gave him a big hug.
