Time was often the adversary in testing patience. The longer the wait, the faster it drains you. But somehow, when one was with the other half of his heart, time would seem like an eternity. It mostly just occurs during the first phases of loving someone. When he's seen a part of her that was no longer desirable, that's when anomalies in a relationship would bloom.

A man would find ways to get away, to free himself, to find another woman that would satisfy him once more. He would reignite the passion he once had for the former who held his heart and delve once again in the bliss of his new found partner. Human nature, as they say. Good thing Specter wasn't human then. But he could take and take and never once will he give back.

He followed Castellone behind, lurking in the shadows of his refuge. The thing about the abyss, it wasn't totally a refuge, it was a cage. It was sworn to trap him in as long as Castellone was persistent enough to protect Abrielle from him. Specter wondered, how long can he really?

Right now, Castellone was with his friends for a short break. He didn't like his friends to think that he didn't want their company no more. It was just courtesy for now. In fact, he couldn't wait to see her. Specter fabled what could Abrielle be doing in that moment too.

"Sorry, I have to tutor some runt over, maybe some other time."

Blaze and Genon watched as Castellone went ahead and left them to do their own business. They couldn't help but notice how happy he appeared like the bad aura emanating from his very character suddenly died down. They looked at each other in mutual understanding that someone, dare they guess who, had totally enchanted their short-fuse tempered friend.

"You know what, I'm telling Rius." Blaze said and tapped away at his phone to call Sirius who missed a lot of what was going on in Liliyah Serana.

Genon agreed and when Sirius answered, they just had to blabber about how weird Castellone was acting. It went on until there was nothing left to tell.

"Actually," Sirius said over the screen and flashed a timid smile that told Blaze even he had something he haven't told them. "I want to introduce you guys to Calla. I'm sure you're going to like her."

Genon leaned back in his seat and sipped on his soda while Blaze rubbed his forehead. "And here I am still a loser for not convincing Lyté well enough."

Genon patted him in the back in false sympathy. He didn't care much about what their hearts told them. He was the type to do what needed to be done for the general progress of life because IQ will never meet EQ. If ever it did, he would have understood how they really felt. "You'll get your chance, bro."

Blaze narrowed his gaze at his friend. Like Castellone, he knew Genon received confessions from time to time too because he just had the brains to electrify those he interacted with despite his oddity, but not as aggressive as Castellone. It made him wonder whether he was lacking something or his friends just had so much stubborn looks.

"Damn, you guys beat me to it." Blaze mumbled and shoved Genon away from him. Genon fell off the chair, his knees were actually drawn up. Luckily, he caught the fall with a countering somersault and landed on his feet.

Genon glanced at Blaze with a mocking smile while narrowing his gaze. "Come on, lover boy, let's get back to campus before Lyté fucks with someone other than you."

Blaze furiously threw him some leftover fries where Genon evaded it with a jolt that made him curve his back and threw his stomach forward. Genon grabbed his soda before running for dear life while Blaze chased at him outside the local fast-food restaurant ycleped Ketchup & Freud's Chicken. Rumor told them the owner was drunk when he named the establishment.
