The very next day, Hope's training began. According to Baroch, Avatar Korra had begun training in her second element when she was 10, so Hope was behind in her training. As such, an earthbending master would be testing her on her earthbending proficiency. Even though the three White Lotus sentries had agreed that Hope wasn't going to pass and would need quite a bit more training, they didn't tell her that.
So they were surprised when about an hour after the test began, Hope emerged from the testing room, clearly about to collapse and covered in sweat and dust, but grinning from ear to ear. While Nori and Baroch congratulated Hope on her close victory, Kadlin frowned. She hadn't been expecting this victory. This really threw a wrench into her careful plans. Kadlin would really have to contact the Mother about this new twist of plans.
Kadlin began to write a letter.
