chapter twenty five : lip service
•••

It had been two hours since I was re-deflowered by my oldest and dearest friend's ex. Side note: could I even use the term "deflower"? If anything it was more like pulling weeds out of a barely living garden.

Anyway, since then, I had showered twice to erase Damon's fingerprints from my body or any traces of his expensive cologne. I had turned the couch cushions to the other side, hoping if I hid those, I could hide the shameful afterglow I was basking in.

All of the things I didn't want to feel, why I didn't want to do this for so long, had started to kick in. Like the side effects of a drug your doctor warned you about. I had enough guilt to paralyze my entire body. Anger was steaming from my ears. Sadness was welling up in my eyes, ready to escape at any time if I didn't watch myself. And the feeling I was terrified most of, had crept it's way into my system and begun to circulate through my veins: relief. And with that relief came tons more self-loathing I couldn't bear to carry.

I found myself missing New York more than I ever had and in dire need of some reflecting on my window bench with some of that weed my brother and I smoked on Christmas. My thoughts were everywhere and nowhere all at the same time.

There was a loud knock at my door, interrupting my ambivalent inner-monologue. On the way to answer it, I ran my hands through my hair to give it a messier look and positioned my boobs higher in my bra.

With a deep breath, I opened the door for Leo. He was wearing his signature smirk along with a tailored, five-thousand dollar suit.

"Sorry I made you wait. My meeting took longer than I thought it would." He walked into the room and greeted me with a small peck on the cheek. I pretended not to be slightly disappointed I didn't get more.

"Don't even worry about it. Did everything go well?" I asked.

Making himself comfortable, he loosened his black tie and sat down at the dining table. "So extremely well that I have to be on the red-eye back to New York tonight. We're buying out The Ritz, so now I have to go close the U.S. deal while Aaron does international."

"That's amazing. Congratulations!" I exclaimed. My eyes glanced at time on my phone. 9:51pm. "Wait, the red-eye? Shouldn't you be on the way to the airport?"

He rubbed the stubble on his jawline before he replied. "Yeah, I have to get going in a minute. I just wanted to give you a proper goodbye since I probably won't be back in London for a while," he said while he got up.

"Oh, I see," I swallowed my disappointment once again. With this new snag in my friendship with Penney, Leo's visits were my only social interactions other than work. "Well, what's your idea of a proper goodbye, then?"

A wide smile spread across Leo's full lips as he swiftly brought my body to his. It wasn't long before he leaned down and kissed me. Our mouths moved perfectly in-sync for a delightful moment until he pulled back.

"That's it? That's the big send off? You're lucky if I even remember you tomorrow with that kiss," I teased.

Before I could chuckle at myself, he pressed his lips against mine with full force. It was absolutely merciless this time. My entire body was tingling from his touch. He broke the kiss to say, "You want something you won't forget?"

The only response I could muster was a lip bite, before he pushed me up onto the table. I was waiting for his mouth to reconnect with mine, but instead they were on my neck leaving a trail. A gasp spilled out when he finally got down between my thighs. With one swift motion, my underwear were flung across the room and replaced by his tongue. He working miracles as my eyes closed in bliss.

God, this guy was talented. Leo had developed a skill level most men can't even dream of. Even Kegstand Clare couldn't compare.

"Fuck," I muttered, with my hands entangled in his hair. I tried to bite my lip hard enough to suppress my moans, but it didn't work when I finally reached my Leo-induced euphoria.

"Even sweeter than how Clare described you." He grinned.

I rolled my eyes at his stupid comment and playfully kicked him. My body was still trembling a bit with the sensations from just a moment ago.

"Okay, now I really do have to go. Hopefully, that will hold you over until you come back to New York." His British accent that no longer fazed me, sounded delectable weaved throughout this words.

I suddenly dreaded the next month and half more than I already had. "We'll see," I challenged, "Thanks for coming to say goodbye."

"Well, technically you're the one who ca--" he started with a devilish smirk.

Shaking my head, I replied, "You're the worst."

His sea green eyes met mine one last time before he walked out my hotel room door. "Call or text me with anything you need. Complaints about the hotel, restaurant suggestions, midnight sexting session, please do not hesitate."

"Goodbye Leo!" I couldn't help but smile as I shouted. But that smile disappeared as soon as that door shut with Leo on the other side of it.

There was nothing more dangerous than a woman's mind left alone to decay with its own poisonous thoughts. Especially when the woman herself, was poisonous.
