Chapter 2

Dani's POV

Beep beep beep beep

I slap my alarm clock, and roll out of bed.

I land in a heap of my comforter on the floor

Dad walks in laughing

"Get out!" I laugh and throw a pillow at him.

"Okay okay!" Dad says and turns around.

I close the door, and get dressed in a sky blue skater skirt, tribal print crop top, and black high tops.

I look in the mirror at my curly hair that's always perfect in the morning.

"What's up with this?" I say to myself

I brush my perfect white teeth, and walk downstairs

"What's for breakfast?" I ask

"Bacon and cereal"

"Yum!" I say and pour my favorite, Lucky Charms, and chow down

"You can't eat that junk all the time," Dad says

I roll my eyes. I eat whatever I want, and my face stays clear and my waist stays small. Must be because of fast metabolism.

"Bye, Dad" I say, and kiss his cheek

I run out the door, and walk to school.

Halfway there, I see Leo sitting on a bench

"Valdez, are you stalking me?" I ask

"Caught me" he says with his devilish smirk.

I laugh, and sit down next to me.

"Listen, Dani, I need to talk to you."

"Fine"

"Danielle, you're a half blood , one of your parents is a god."

"Yeah I know, wait what?!" I sputter

"I don't know who your parent is, but I have to take you to this camp. It trains half bloods like me."

"You're a half blood?"

"Yes, son of Hepeasthus, I can summon fire, well anyway you need to come with me."

"You can summon fire?"

"Yeah, you have to come with me, so you can train, because monsters can smell you, and they can attack, you have to be prepared."

"Wow" I breath

"Yeah a lot to take in." Leo says

"I'll come with you" I say excitedly

"Wait what?!"

"This is a chance for me to find out why I'm who I am!" I smile brightly

Leo looks confused

"Let's go!" I say and grab his arm.

I look in his eyes for a second, but remember I hate him, and let go of his arm.

"Well you should tell your dad first." Leo suggests

"Okay I will."

I walk quickly back to my house

"Why are you back, Danielle?" Dad asks seriously

"Dad, school's almost out, and there's this camp I that I need to go to."

"Is it free?" he asks

"Yes! And I'll be back when school starts again!" I say

"Okay, I'll just tell the school, that I'm pulling you out early."

"Do I need to take you there?" he asks

"No" I say,

"Okay.....go pack" Dad says cautiously

"Thank you! Thank you!" I scream, and almost tackle Dad in a hug.

I run upstairs, and shove everything in my drawers into a duffel bag.

I run downstairs, and hug Dad again.

"See you in September!"

I walk outside, "Good news, Valdez, I'm coming"

"Great, Valentine, let's go."

We walk to Leo's car, and I throw my bag in the backseat

I sit down, and buckle my seat belt.

Leo starts driving," You might wanna get comfortable, this place is in New York."

I groan, and sit back, and we drive away.
