Dani's POV
"How are we going to get to Texas?" Selena asks
"I think I might know" Leo asks
"Aren't you from Texas?" I ask
Leo sighs," Yes I am"
"Well how can we get there?" Selena asks stubbornly
"My cousin Pablo, he's the only person in my family who doesn't hate me"
"We need to find a yellow pages, and get to a phone booth" Selena instructs
"No need when I have this!" I pull out my green iPhone.
Leo's eyes widen, and he slaps it out of my hand.
Selena closes her eyes tightly, and she forms a laser out light.
She focuses the laser at my phone and it burns the plastic shell.
"My phone! I was still paying that off!" I gasp," I don't think T-Mobile will replace that"
"Good" Leo says and lights it on fire
"Well if you're more of an android person you could've told me"
"Cell phones, and computers and stuff like that send out a signal that attracts monsters" Selena says
"We should go now" Leo says, and puts his arm around my shoulder tugging me forward.
We walk to a supermarket
I go to Customer Service," Hi, do you have a yellow pages?"
"Yes,sweetheart," she purrs lustfully
Wow, I've really underestimated my powers.
"I'm looking for Pablo Valdez,"
"I found it." She dials the number.
"Leo!" I call
Leo runs up to me, and picks up the phone
"Hey, Pablo, it's me Leo." He says," I need you to take me and some friends to Texas"
"Yeah yeah, you promised"
"Love you, bro" Leo hangs up to phone.
"He's gonna pick us up later today" He says
I nod, and get Selena.
"Transportation check, now we need food" I say
"There's a pizza place around the corner, and it smells amazing!" Selena licks her lips
I laugh, and we walk to the pizza place.
Selena orders, and Leo and I sit in a booth
"Are you okay?" I ask softly
"Yeah," Leo says avoiding my eyes.
"Leo, please tell me what's wrong" I plead.
He shakes his head," Just remembering stuff"
"Like what?"
"I don't really want to talk about it" Leo mumbles
"Okay"
Leo leans into me, and I put his head on my shoulder.
Selena comes back carrying, three individual pizzas.
She hands me one, and it's veggie
"Oh, I'm not a vegetarian,"
"I just thought maybe you'd want a healthier option, you know to keep your beauty" she smirks.
I roll my eyes," Yeah well veggie pizza isn't even healthy, the cheese and sauce make up for the pepperoni. Maybe you think first before you judge me"
She grumbles and sits down.
"And real beauty comes from inside, my mom may be the goddess of outer beauty, but that doesn't mean I care about that!" I say as quietly as I can
"I get it, Danielle" she says through her teeth
I pick the veggies off my pizza, and bite into it.
"Mmmm spicy pepperoni, just how I like it" Leo grins
I laugh softly, and raise my eyebrow at Selena
She smiles a little
We wait a couple hours, and then we go back to store, and call Pablo again
He says he'll be at the grocery store in 45 minutes.
Selena sits on a bench, and flickers the lights in the store.
"Isn't that electricity?" I ask and sit next to her
"Yeah, but it's still light" she laughs
I laugh, as the lights go completely dark, and people panic
"I'm a sick person" she explains
"Yes you are" I laugh
"I'm sorry, for the pizza"
"It's okay" I smile
Leo walks over to us, " He's here"
