Chapter 3

Dani's POV

"Wake up, sleeping beauty" Leo yells in my ear.

I slowly wake up, and brush my hair knowing it looks perfect.

"Grab your bags, and be quiet." he says

I see we're parked at the start of a hill.

I grab my bags, and get out the car.

We slowly walk up the hill.

We're almost to the top, when I hear a bark that sounds more like a roar

"Hellhound!" Leo screams.

"What?!" I say confused

Leo grabs my arm, and we run towards the top of the hill.

We make it to the gate, when a big black dog lunges toward me, and takes a huge bit into my leg.

I scream in pain

"DANIELLE!" Leo yells

He pulls a sledgehammer out of his tool belt, and throws it at the hell dog thing.

Leo carries me bridal style, into camp.

"Huh?" I mumble

"It'll be okay" he promises

I nod choking back tears.

I see a swarm of black dots, and then I black out.

Leo's POV

I run to the infirmary, and lay Dani on an empty cot.

"She got bit by a hellhound" I explain," She's lost a lot of blood."

"Okay," a daughter of Apollo says.

I brush hair out of Dani's face, and back out of the infirmary.

"Hey,Leo!" Jason calls

"Hi, Jason...." I mumble

"I know that look." Jason says

"What look, bro?" I ask confused

"You're worried about that girl" Jason says

"Pfft no" I chuckle

"That's how I looked when Piper broke her ankle, remember?" Jason says

"How could I forget" I say shuddering at the memory.

"You like her" Jason says simply

"No I don't. She hates me"

"Whatever, dude"

Dani's POV

I wake up in an unfamiliar room, on an unfamiliar bed.

What just happened?

I roll on my side, and place my foot on the ground.

Pain shoots up my side, and I wince.

"Oh no no no, you sit down." a girl with golden hair says," First you need some nectar and ambrosia"

"What?" I ask quietly

She turns around, and brings me a tray with a honey colored drink and a brown square of food.

"Go ahead drink it" she smiles

I take a long sip of the drink, and it tastes like a chocolate milkshake.

"Ahh" I smile

"Now eat that" the girl says

I pick up the square and take a bite, it tastes like a warm chocolate brownie, I shove it all in my mouth.

My body instantly warms up.

I suddenly feel no pain in my ankle, and get up.

"Can I go now?" I ask

"Yes you can"

I walk outside, and see small buildings, one has plants growing up the sides of it, and another is golden, and blinding to look at.

I see Leo talking to a boy with blond hair and blue eyes

"Leo" I call

He turns around blushing," Oh hey Dani"

"Hi, I'm Jason Grace, son of Jupiter or Zeus" the blond boy introduces himself

"Hi, I'm Dani Valentine." I smile

"Valentine, I can take a guess who your mom is" he laughs

"Huh?"

"Jason" Leo says giving Jason a look

Leo pulls me to a cabin, that looks like Barbie's dream house

"I have someone I need you to meet." Leo says

He opens the door and yells," Beauty Queen!"

I'm so confused

A girl with tan skin, short choppy brown hair, and brown.....wait...blue eyes.

"Hi, I'm Piper McLean." she smiles beautifully," I'm head counselor of the Aphrodite cabin."

"Nice to meet you." I say

"si vous êtes nouveau ici? Eh bien im une fille d'Aphrodite. Je suppose que vous êtes trop. Youre yeux changent de couleur aussi. Et vous parlez français. Eh bien c'est beaucoup à prendre, donc comment allez-vous?" She says in fluent French

"English please, Pipes." Leo says

"Moi une fille d'Aphrodite? Bien que cela explique beaucoup! Je vais bien. Genre si confus ... mais vous semblez cool. Oh mes dieux je parle français. Je ne sais pas le français" I say surprised

Piper smiles," Come with me."

I blush, surprised about all this

Before I can follow Piper, I'm shrouded in a pink fog.

I look down, and see that I'm wearing white strappy sandals, and a white knee length dress with an extremely low V cut.

My eyes widen in shock and a little bit of fear.

I blush and fold my arm covering my chest.

"Danielle Valentine, daughter of Aphrodite." Leo and Piper say in unison

I walk inside with Piper.

"Welcome, Dani, to Cabin 10" Piper says.
