"Raven. Wake up." I blink open my eyes and see Eric looking down at me.
"He's waking up." He says and I jerk up in bed and look over at Josiah. He moans and his hand moves. I climb out of bed and rush over to Josiah and grab his hand. Eric steps beside me and I smile as Josiah opens his eyes.
"Raven?" He asks and I nod. He sits up slowly and pulls me into a tight hug. I bawl and bawl and he holds me tight against him hushing me gently.
"I'm ok Raven." He says and I nod taking a deep breath and giving him some space.
"You came through the portal and I couldn't even see your face through all the blood. Then you went unconscious and I- I thought I'd lost you. You weren't moving and your breathing was so shallow and I- we tried to wake you up but nothing worked and and-"
"Shhhh Raven I'm ok, I'm fine." He says and I wipe my eyes nodding.
"Hey man." Josiah says and Eric smirks hitting him on the back.
"You looked like shit man." Eric says and I glare at him while Josiah laughs.
"Yeah that's what happens when you're being attacked by demons." He says and I try not to wince.
"Where were you?" I ask
"What?" He replies
"Josiah we left you four days ago." I say looking down.
"I know and I'm sorry it took so long to find you guys. I barely escaped our home. Me and Josh were the only survivors but then when we got away we tried to find this safe house but something happened and demons found us then we had to fight and Josh and I got separated somehow. He escaped but I don't know where he went because I was being attacked. They slashed my leg with a poison sword and knocked me unconscious I barely got to you guys. When I got here I could barely stand and I had lost so much blood." He says and I nod.
"I'm just glad you're ok." I say
"Yeah but can't say the same for you two." He says motioning to Eric and I.
"What do you mean?" I ask
"I barely got away from them, they will track where the portal landed and will come hunting for us we have to get out of here and find another safe house." He says
"Are there even any around?" I ask
"There is one in The middle of the dark forest." He says.
"The portals won't stretch that far." I say. The center of the dark forest leaves no space for portals if you try to make one it'll snap and you'll be stuck wherever they land.
"I know which is why we are gonna have to pack up soon and leave in a car before they get here." He says
"Ok." Eric says moving beside me.
"Let's get packing we have to leave in less then ten minutes." He replies
"Alright." I say and turn around, heading to my bed. I throw clothes of mine and Eric's into a black duffle bag then turn to face them.
"Get the food. We need to go." I say pulling on my black boots and black hoodie. Eric takes the duffle bag and puts it over his shoulder then Josiah and him put food in a small duffle bag including oranges, apples, dried meat, granola bars, and water bottles.
"Which car are we taking?" I ask.
"Black SUV." Josiah replies.
"Where from?" I ask and he motions us to the back of the house. He clicks a button and a door opens.
"No fuckin way!" Eric exclaims and I follow his gaze to the 100 something cars parked in a garage that I had no idea existed. Josiah smirks and walks down the stairs Eric and I following him. The door shuts and locks behind us and a light flashes on.
"Oh my god." I say looking around. So many different cars!
"This one." He says motioning to a black SUV with tinted windows. We walk over to it and he grabs the keys.
"You two sit in the back by the weapons. We'll be chased and I need y'all close enough to grab them if necessary. We'll have about an hour start but they will catch up with us." He says and we nod. We put the three duffle bags in the front and then climb in the back first Eric and then me.
"Can they see into these windows?" I ask
"No but we can see out." He says and I nod.
"Buckle up." Josiah says and Eric and I buckle up.
"Let's go." He says then starts the car. The door lifts open but it's pitch black outside.
"Why's it so dark?" I ask
"We are underground." Josiah replies then we start to drive. I watch the garage close behind us then grab a sniper out from the back. Eric grabs a pistol and puts it in his lap.
"Middle of the dark forest? Here we come." Josiah says and I lean back against the seat and watch out the window.
And the chase begins....
