Kate POV
This cannot be happening again. Not only has the tree fallen on our cave, making it fall on top of us, but the tree seemed to have been struck by lightning and is now on fire. Red's face is etched into my mind, making me sad, confused if this is really happening, and utterly terrified. I hear the screams of Ashlyn and Caylie, whom are trapped in the corner of the cave. I try to crawl over to help them, but it's as if my legs halved stopped working. I let out a scream of frustration, and drag myself along the stone floor to get to them. I get about three feet, before seeing Cheryl's lifeless body before me. I have a second of pure terror, before seeing her chest rise and fall repeatedly. She's alive, just unconsious. I sigh with relief before hearing more screams from Caylie in the corner. I can no longer see Ashyn, and my stomach drops as I look beside the fire to see Alex, Grace, and Seth's bodies sprawled on the ground, their eyes glassily staring up at me. Dead. I scream at the top of my lungs, hoping someone will be able to hear me, but we are miles and miles away from any remote help. I hear someone screaming my name from the burning depths of fire. Caylie! I forgot about heron the sadness of loosing the others.
I run to Caylie, my legs now thankfully working, and drag her out of the corner with my remaining strength. She has raw and red patches, she must have gotten a little burnt. But she'll be okay. Hopefully? Not with the rest of them dead! I hear her shriek. My name. Just my name.
"Kate! Kate!" Her screaming is loud and worried. Worried? I worried. She shouldn't be.
"Kate! Kate wake up!" she screams. I sit bolt upright on the cave floor, terrified from the vivid nightmare I've just had.
