Ashlyn POV
It's morning, and we all get up before abruptly notice something quite different.
Caylie's gone.
We all call out her name, we search everywhere remotely close to camp, but we can't find her anywhere. After worrying, and trying to figure out what to do, we split into search parties.
"Okay..." Alex says "Seth and Kate, you two should search where we were just walking along the path, Cheryl and Ashlyn, you two stay here in case she somes back, and Grace and I will go search the woods. She must be somewhere..." she trails off. We all do as we were told.
Cheryl and I sit in silence, waiting for something to happen. Normally, she would be gabbling on about something, but she's quiet. It's really unlike her.
"Cheryl, are you okay?" I ask. She's not. I can tell.
"I just... I feel really bad about whatever happened to Caylie. What if she's hurt?" Cheryl says while focusing her eyes on her feet. I know the feeling. I feel awful. Something bad seems to always be happeneing here.
We stay and wait for something to happened, and we don't have to wait for long.
"Help! HELP!" We hear coming from the trees. We run over and see Alex and Grace running towards us, their hands covered in blood. Caylie!
"Is she okay?" I holler. Grace shakes her head. We run towards them, and Alex leads us to Caylie while Grace goes to get Kate and Seth. We run along the forest, trying to get to where ever Caylie is.
When we finally get there, it's not a pretty sight . Her whole torso is limp, her arm is rather red, and her breathing is rattly. She doesn't look like she'll make it... But I can't think that way. Of course she'll make it. She has to.
Seth, Kate, and Grace come back with another blanket, and we use it as another blanket stretcher. We lift up Caylie whose arm is now slowly bleeding from a cut on her arm. It doesn't look all too great..
We bring her back to camp where Kate takes a look at her. After a while she says "Well, she seems to be under a lot of shock, but I think she'll be okay. Her arm..." She trails off. What about her arm? I concentrate on Kate. This is the first time I've actually wanted to use my mind reading, and thankfully it works. She might not be able to use it Kate thinks.
I am astounded. "What do you mean she can't use it?" I say crazed. She looks up.
"Well, when I thought it I wasn't planning for you to see it. But I.... She might not be able to use it. It looks like there's some kind of infection... Or something weird went into her arm. Well, it's not for certain, but she might not be able to do all of the things she used to." She ends.
This can't happen. Not to Cailey. I shake my head.
"There has to be something we can do. There has to be." I say, certain. Kate looks down. I see her eyes, sad and not calm. Not calm at all. She is holding something back, not just about the arm. I can tell. I close my eyes and try to see it...
I saw something.
She saw something? What could she see that would make her so scared? I tilt my head at her, and try and focuse at the problem at hand.
"Cheryl." I say, turning to her "What can we do?" She looks up at me and says "Only really one thing, but we don't have to go to that drastic of measures. The Bruxa. But isn't that what we've been trying to avoid this whole time? Them?" She's right. It is. So now I know we can't help. The medical woman who is supposed to know it all doesn't know. The person who is supposed to know about everything doesn't know. It all always comes down to them. The Bruxa.
