La Luna

Howling wolves awaken me from my chaotic thoughts.

I can feel the Earth beneath me, as the midnight air,

Wraps itself around me to provide a mild warmth.

The less emerald grass, tickles my face, kissing my cheek.

The silhouette of the oak tree I rest against,

Stretches its branches in a silent reflection, shy under the powers of the moon.

La luna, guardian of the night, a halo of argent mystery.

Hangs in the lonely sky, watching over its children of the night.

It whispers a haunting lullaby, drawing me into the formed waves of its crests.

Like a sirens's song, pulling me towards a welcoming death.

A ghostly light shimmers over the pond, a hypnotic sight to bare.

The moon, my muse calms my mind, and settles my heart,

Promising to wash away my tears if only I allow it too.

Words never spoken, linger closely in my mind,

Pushing me farther to the edge of insanity.

Silent screams leave my trembling body,

These unsaid words begin to fade into the darkness of the night.

An empty face stares back at me as the water ripples with my touch.

The now distorted face appears blurry, just like my vision,

Just like my life.

The moon's song lulls me into a peaceful sleep,

It's majestic aura is all that surrounds me as my eyes close,

And the once still water, influenced by la luna,

Floods my lungs, and steals my last sorrowful breath.

Howling wolves awaken me from my chaotic thoughts.

I can feel the Earth beneath me, as the midnight air,

Wraps itself around me to provide a mild warmth.
