The stars glistened peacefully one night,
Before a supernova rippled through the sky.
Outshining entire galaxies in sight,
And radiating more energy than our sun emitting,
in its entire lifetime.
Heavy elements sent off to chase in all directions,
Left to wonder,
Why it had such an explosion?
****
But what is not seen, or heard, or felt.
Is that last stars dying wish,
Of exhaustion and defeat.
Crumbling underneath,
Burnt out.
****
Did you ever know?
The star before the supernova.
For a star will shine its brightest, right before it burns out.
A/N: Another burst of inspiration at 2 am? Or an excuse to not go to sleep just yet? :)
Thank you so much again for all your support.
