Like a candle in the dark,
Jupiter gleams pale yellow at dusk.
Rising at sundown,
providing endless light.
A mother to her children,
the moons of Jupiter orbit almost obediently.
Galilean moons of Jupiter,
Float around aimlessly as the largest in the galaxy.
Inner moons of Jupiter,
Stay closer to home, protected from the menacing forces,
that threaten to take away the heart of their satellite.
A moon of Jupiter I offer to you, my dear,
You could have the most lustrous,
It still wont compare to the sparkle in your smile.
You could have the most icy,
We could skate upon the surface of the moon.
You could have the one most fiery,
My love for you will be the only thing burning brighter.
Two immortal souls,
watching the moons fall hopelessly in love.
A/N: This poem talks about the romanticism of Jupiter and its moons. Jupiter is Roman God name for Zeus (Greek Mythology, god of the sky). Jupiter has around 63 known moons, and they are named after the supposed lovers of Jupiter. :)
