28 | Remember The Titans [ Hotheaded ]

CLARISSA GLANCED AT OLIVER, who swung himself lightly on the swing. He had his fingers clasped together. She smiled at the innocence that was literally radiating off him, before returning her gaze at Hailey.

They were sitting at a picnic table just beside the playground. Hailey looked nervous, shifting from her seat time to time, "when I was younger, I had friends that wanted to climb this mountain in Europe. So I joined them."

"the avalanche?"

Hailey widened her eyes and leaned in, curious, "He— he told you? What else did he say?"

"Just that how doesn't remember how he got there." Sam replied.

"My friends were gone, and when I found him, his clothes were torn off, his eyes were frozen solid, but he was still alive." She laughed dryly, "I just knew there was something off the way that he would— he—"

"Die every day?" Clarissa interrupted.

Hailey nodded her head frantically, relieved, "Yeah! I thought it was from exposure or shock. Maybe he was unconscious. We were both in shock and shape." She then smiled wearily, "And I knew I couldn't make it down the mountain if it weren't for him. And then when we got to the bottom, we realised that it had become something else, and we spent the night together. And then while we were, you know...he had a heart attack."

Dean giggles, "awkward."

"So I called 911, but they couldn't save him. And when I had to go down to I.D. the body, he popped up again. Alive. I freaked out and I ran! And nine months later, I had Oliver." She looked over at Oliver and unconsciously smiled at the sight of his son swinging on the swing.

"I hired a private investigator. I really tried to find him, but when they gave up, I gave up. Until a couple of months ago."

"Now, what made you look again?" Dean asked.

"The worse thing." She opened her mouth to continue but was glued to her spot when Shane came into her field of sight. He was stepping out of the motel room, slightly dazed. A burst of confusion and surprise coursed through him when he spotted her, "Hailey?"

"Hello, Shane." She stood up, approaching him. "Oliver, come here, honey."

Oliver obeyed, wiggling himself into his mother's warm embrace, "I thought it was time you two meet. This is Oliver."

Clarissa and Dean watched Shane from a distance, who was pushing Oliver on the swing, laughing along with Hailey.

The two sipped their mugs of coffee, the beverage that seemed too perfect for this weather.

Sam walked out from the motel room and joined the two. Clarissa handed him a mug of his own and asked, "did you find anything?"

"Looks like we were right about that curse thing. From what I can tell, we're looking for a Titan."

Dean inferred, "Titan...like a god Titan?"

"More like a proto-God. The gods before the gods. They ruled over Greece before Zeus and the rest of the Olympian Gods overthrew them."
