Can you pretty please bring me my workout clothes? I forgot to grab them out of the dryer.

The text from Jonny read. He had left for practice about a half hour ago. You went and found the clothes he needed and got into the car. When you arrived at the rink you were expecting him to be on the ice so you went past the locker rooms and went through the tunnel to meet him at the benches. You said hello to the few players who were getting a drink of water at the benches.

“Hey Toes! Your girl is here!” Sharpy yelled across the ice as he took another swallow of water.

“Thank you, Sharpy.” You said giving him a smile. “How is the family?”

“Great! Thanks for asking.” Sharpy said with a big grin on his face.

Jonathan skated over to where you were, “Hey, babe. Thanks a bunch.” He said as he leaned in to kiss you. The boys who were near started to ooh and ahh at the two of you.

“What are you guy? Twelve? Grow up and get back in the ice.” Jonny said in his captain voice.

“Sir yes sir.” Sharpy mocked Jonny.

“Ok, I have a few errands to run. When are you going to be home?” You said trying to change the subject so Jonny wouldn’t get embarrassed.

“I’ll be home by 4, babe.” He said looking over at you. He grabbed the clothes from your hands and put them on the bench beside you.

“Ok, sounds good. I love you.” You said to him.

“I love you more.” He said in a soft tone. That sent a new round of teasing oohs and ahhs around the rink. You rolled your eyes at the guys.

“Honestly. Are you all four?” Jonny said turning around and looking at his teammates, a bit annoyed. They all snickered like they were school boys.

“Ok, bye, love. See you later.” You said as you leaned in to kiss Jonny one last time. You walked away to the sound of the boys saying “I love you more.” In a mocking tone with kissy sounds. It sounded mostly like Sharpy and Kaner. You rolled your eyes and then laughed when you heard Kane say,

“Ow. Why’d you punch me!?”

And then almost immediately heard Jonny tell them in his captain voice, “Get back to practice. All of you, you lazy asses.”

You chuckled quietly to yourself because you had a feeling that your dinner conversation that night was going to be about all the times he had to punch Kane for mocking him.
