|Chapter: 27|

"Why do you have Donald Trump's poster on your wall?"

That's Shawn Mendes. Not Donald Trump. Control Rena, he is just trying to get on your nerves.

"Look he is smiling now. This is creepy", he tried again.

After he found out I'm staying alone, he planned to stay. On the side note, don't get any wrong ideas. We argued about it for a long time before I gave up. Now, here we are. Me sitting on my table, trying to make sense out of my worksheets while he is on my bed boring holes into my back. I heaved out a long tired sigh and turn on my chair to look at him smiling his amazingly gorgeous smile. That was enough to make my knees go weak and I smile back at him like admiring the most beautiful flower. The act I was putting on to ignore him flowing down the drain right there and then.

I brought my knees to my chest before wrapping my arms around it and rested my face on it as I waited for him to say anything. He lay on his one side, tilting his head staring at me like I'm the most precious thing. Why?

"I want to sleep", he said.

"I don't remember telling you not to sleep."

"Right", he mumbled and fall on his back shuting his eyes tightly. Then it hit me, he probably can't sleep with the lights on. I packed all my stuffs and put it in the bag before I went inside my closet to retrieve a blanket and pillow.

I switched off the light after I look at his face for one last time and then turned to leave the room.

"Where you going?", he asked with his sleepy voice.

"In my mom's room", I replied. From the moonlight that crept through my windows I could see him sitting up on the bed.

"Why can't we sleep in the same room?", he asked slowly. "Oh wait, you're not sure about controlling yourself. I like my girl dirty", he smirked. My girl. His beautiful face lit up even in the dark.

"Noooooo", my eyes became wide once I realised what he was trying to say. I was too caught up in his faze.

"Then?"

"I.. I.. I can't sleep with the lights off", I admitted sheepishly. I expected him to burst out laughing at me. But unexpectedly, he dropped his smirk and stood up.

He made his way to my window. Wait, was he leaving me? Isn't that what I wanted? He opened and climbed out of it. While my heart sank looking at his back and he jumped on the lawn with a swift landing, making me gasp. I always mess up, don't I?

Stupidly, I walked back to my bed and sat down. This is what I feared, we are so different and we can never be together. There will always be a broken bridge between us, like if we try to cross and be with each other, we will somehow loose our balance and fall apart, because we lack common things and coordination. I wanted him to leave, he didn't agree. He left, I can't bring myself to agree. He...

Knock knock.

I snapped my head to my window. He stood there grinning from ear to ear. After he came inside, he closed the window and pulled down the blinds make the room pitch black and I can hardly see anything. I heard him walking around the room but had no idea what he was upto until the room lit with neon green lights.

Wow.

Not too bright, not too dark

Just perfect.

Maybe we could balance on the broken bridge.

"Now can we sleep in the same room?", he asked making my heart skip a beat. And I noticed him change into his sweatpants and a black plain tee. For the first time no leather jacket, no black jeans, no boots. He looked so comfy and I just wanted to hug me. Wait. I brought my mind back to the question and thought for a while, same room means same bed. Am I ready for that yet?
