It feels like I had a nightmare I couldn't escape from. I still haven't even though I'm awake.

Thick, gooy darkness fills the void of light. A stench powerful enough kill a noseless beast poisons the air. Three people stand at its edge, staring in disbelief. "We have to go back!" The woman said turning to her husband and daughter. "We can't!" The daughter yelled over the ringing in her ears. "Don't yell at me! We have to turn back!" The mom yelled at her. The daughter pointed to the darkness that steadily grew closer. "My brother, your son, is in there!" The husband spoke up. "He is gone. There is no getting him back." The daughter cried, "We have to try!" Her dad grabbed her arm. "Enough. We can't help if we are dead." He said pulling her away. As the darkness advanced the party of three ran. Soon, however, the darkness got them just as it got the brother. All four family members are thrown into a trap that gives them different lives and different identities. Each keeping the knowledge of the prison that has devoured them with no hope of escape.
