Chapter 9

It's been about a month since I joined the MISFITS. I'm still bunking with Tae, cause there are no more rooms, although most of the guys are trying to fix that. Tae and I don't really care about sharing though.

I'm still learning about how things are done here which is kind of difficult. I learned that females normally don't join groups but instead hope a male from some group will become their mate. Thankfully that's different with us. We've caught quite a bit of attention since I joined, but good in a way, because having a female also means that we have an advantage. Nearly all males will back down if a female challenges them.

Last week Taehyung and I were near the cafe we met at, when we heard Man shik's voice mocking someone.

"Aww come on lil chickie! Ya gonna flap those teeny wings of yours?" Man shik's childish tone taunted.

Tae and I walked in to see Man shik pushing around a chicken hybrid. Taehyung quickly ran in front of the chicken hybrid, trying to protect him.

"Awe! Is kitty protecting chickie? How cute!" Man-shik yelled before swatting at Tae.

"You're gonna regret that, Man-shik!" I yelled as I came up to him, pressing my hands against his chest, pushing him back.

"Does kitty always have his tigress to protect him?" Man shik taunted, looking behind me at Taehyung.

"Is puppy always gonna be a lowlife jerk, that has nothing better to do bu pick on others?" I asked, cocking my head.

His eyes widened, ears soon flattening as he turned around, stomping out like the giant toddler he is.

I turned around to see Taehyung crouching down next to the chicken he tried defending.

"Thanks, Taehyung." The new hybrid said with a small smile.

"You're welcome, Jae." Tae said, helping Jae onto his feet.

Once Jae was on his feet he saw me.

"Is this her?" He asked Taehyung excitedly.

"Oh right! Y/N, this is Jae, another one of my hyungs! And Jae, this is Y/N, the newest MISFIT!" Tae said, with a box smile.

"Nice to meet you, Jae!" I said smiling at him.

"You too, Y/N!" He said smiling too.

"Taehyung, does he..." I said trying to ask about me being a human.

"Does he what?" Jae asked confusedly.

"Uh does he... have a... group! Yeah do you have a group?" I asked nervously.

"Nah. I'm a lone wolf. Stay outta groups, stay away from rules, make allies, not friends." The chicken stated proudly.

"CHICKEN LITTLE!" A voice yelled.

"Oh God please no." Jae said quietly as a dog hybrid came into view.

"There you are, Chicken Little!" The new hybrid said, ruffling Jae's fluffy feathery hair.

"Hi Brian." Jae said with a smirk.
The dog rolled his eyes.

"Guys this is Younghyun, but he likes being called Young K. He's my, uh..."

"Friend?" I asked.

"Yeah sure." Jae said.

"Hey Taehyung!" Young K said, soon noticing me.

"Oh uh hi!" He said as his eyes moved up to my ears, his eyes growing some.

"Hi Young K! I'm Y/N!" I said smiling.
