~Your POV~

I lean back, against Thomas' chest.

"Remember the last time we were on a ship?"

"Yeah. You literally stood still for a few minutes when you saw everyone else."

"Hey!" I whine. "It's not my fault that I was stuck in a castle for a year!"

"Or was it...?"

"You guys sound like an old couple." James snickers.

"And you in general sound old with all of that coughing, so you shouldn't be talking." I joke. "Remember, this is all my treat. Go get more rest."

Thomas chuckles, ruffling my hair. (Ignore that if you're bald)

"Y/n, I really like you... Ever since I met you, you've always brightened my day. Would you give me the honor of courting you?"

I feel my face get hot. I think of Laf for a split second. He's always been there for me... How'd he feel if I were to court Thomas?

"U-Um... I need some time... I'm so sorry, Thomas, but I'm not sure about my feeling right now."

"I respect that decision. You tell me when you're ready."

I run off to my sleeping chambers. I sit on my bed and start to cry a bit. I feel as if I can't court either of them. The other would be heartbroken. I wouldn't want to do this to anyone.

"H-Hey, Y/n... It's James, c-can I come in?"

I wipe the tears from my eyes. "Okay."

I see him walk in and shut the door behind him.

"Y/n, you like Lafayette, too, don't you? And you don't want to hurt his feelings?"

"Yeah..." I reply between sniffles.

"Let it all out, Y/n, it's fine. I'm here."

I nod and cry, hugging the pillow from my bed. We both know that I shouldn't hug James in case I catch his illness.

"Y/n, I have something to say, too."

I look up from the now soaked pillow in my grasp. James' face is more red than before.

"I-I... I like Thomas..."

"Oh, James...! I understand... You don't want to hurt anyone by saying this, so you kept it to yourself."

"Yeah... After my wife died and all..."

"I'm sorry to hear that. How long ago was it?"

(Can we all just pretend for once? I'm not googling everything. Plus, I support JeffMads. Sorry!)

"I'm sure you miss her dearly. Was she a kind wife?"

"The best that I could've asked for. She didn't mind that I always spoke about Thomas. She enjoyed listening to me ramble, and she didn't matter if I hung out with Thomas more than her. She was never jealous or anything of that sort... I wish I was a better husband to her. She deserved better."

"Nonsense! James, you are an amazing person! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! If Thomas hurts you, I'll hurt him twice as hard. Possibly triple... Hmm... Now I gotta think about this."

"Y/n!" He squeaked.

I laughed. "Joking! A bit... If he hurts you, I will hurt him, though. I'm not afraid to get my hands a bit dirty."

"And if Lafayette hurts you, I will make sure that he will never have another breath of fresh air again."

"Oh my James... You just focus on yourself. I'll take care of Laf."

"Alright. We're almost in Britain, though."

"Really!?"

"Yeah. A few hours left."

"That is AMAZING news!"

"Yeah, I have become a bit seasick..."

"Not another sickness!"

"Just a bit! It's not like I'm gonna throw up. Just a tiny bit nauseous."

"If you weren't a guy, I'd think you were pregnant, James."

"Hey! I'm not that fat!"

"I don't mean it like that. I mean that you're nauseous and are sick."

"Symptoms of being sick, not pregnant!"

"Well nausea..."

"Shut up, Y/nnnn!"

"Haha! James, you do know that I'm joking, right?"

"Yesh."

"Okay! Mrs. Madison~"
