I decided to draw lil' Liza as an apology for not updating.
~Your POV~
"Y/n, you are late." Herc tells me, trying to keep a straight face.
"I know. I fell asleep. I'm a busy woman, Herc."
"I have multiple things that you need to try on today. First: A light blue dress. Second: A creamy white dress. Third: You- A wedding dress."
"Who is this wedding dress for?"
"No one in particular. Anyways, fourth: A dark blue dress."
"How many dresses are there!?"
"Um... About 15 or so..."
"Herc! You've been overworking yourself!"
"No, normally I have to make a ton more. Now get to it."
I nod, putting on the first dress. It's a bit long on me. Herc observes that and tells me to go onto the next dress. This one is too loose on me. Herc also writes this down. The wedding dress fits perfectly, but it's a bit heavy. I inform Herc on this, and he nods. The blue dresses are very comfortable. They feel very nice and light. Herc nods again.
"Alright. You're all good for now. Gotta fix these ones. Afterwards, I'll have you try on these other ones."
"Why are these all wedding attires?"
"Uh... I wanted to make a wedding line."
"I would've believed it if Laf and I weren't getting married. You're trying to get me to use your dresses for my wedding. If you had just asked, I would've said yes anyways."
"Wait, you'll use it!?"
"Sure. Just don't show Laf."
"Of course! Alright, do you have a preference?"
"I'd like the bridesmaid dresses to be that dark blue dress. It's perfect. Also, that wedding dress is going to make me fall over. Literally." I chuckle.
"Alright. Too heavy... Lighter fabric. Less layers. Thanks, Y/n!"
"No problem. Thanks for the wedding attire."
"If you want, you can go home. I was going to keep giving you wedding dresses until you said yes to one of them."
"Wow. Just wow." I roll my eyes, walking out.
I walk to a cafe that had recently opened and take a seat.
A man walks up to me, "Hello there, miss. What would you like today?"
"Water, please."
"Alright. I'll be right back."
I nod, patiently waiting. The man walks back, giving me a glass of water.
"Anything else?"
"No thank you, I'm fine."
He nods, walking away. I feel two hands cover my eyes.
A fake high-pitched voice asks me, "Guess who!"
"Alex, get your hands off of me."
"How'd you know?" He asks, sitting next to me.
"Maybe because I can smell the ink."
"Oh... Yeah, I just got a lunch break."
"Sweet. Why'd you spend it with me?" I take a sip of my water.
"I need your help."
"Alright. What with?"
"You know that girl that was at my doorstep when you were over?"
"Oh... her... Yeah."
"I may or may not have had another run in with her..."
"You did WHAT!?"
"Had intercourse...?"
"Alex, my friend, I love you and all, but why would you ever do that!?"
"I don't know! I wasn't thinking straight, and I was a bit drunk..."
"Why were you drunk!?"
"Uh... Crying over John again?"
"Alright, I cry over John every night, but you don't drink away your problems, you normally shove all of the work onto your desk and finish it in record time. Now tell me, why were you drunk?"
"I was out with Laf and Herc."
"Laf went drinking!? Oh that little-"
"Y/n! He was there to watch us. You know that Herc and I don't stop drinking once we start. Laf only had a beer or two."
"Alright. What am I supposed to do about your affair?"
"Keep it from Eliza. Please. And the children. And everyone else. Especially Jefferson, Madison, and Burr. They'll try to ruin my career with it."
"...Alright. Fine. You better tell Eliza right away, though. If not, I won't be talking to you again."
"Of course! Thanks a ton, Y/n!"
I sigh, knowing that something wrong is going to happen. Like that life I saved earlier just vanished.
"Alex, go upstate."
"What?"
"You heard me. Go upstate. Explain it to her there. I'll go with you. Come on, I'll get a carriage now."
"Y/n, I have work."
"Yes, and I have connections. I'll tell Washington, James, and Thomas to cover your work. You need a break, and unlike Eliza, I'm forcing you. Now let's go."
"You have a fiancé."
"He'll understand. Now come on!"
Alex nods, following me to an open carriage. I pay and tell him to go to the Schuyler estate.
