Jon knew exactly what she was doing. "Dany, you need to take care of yourself. You need to rest. I can't lose you. When Rhaella was born, you nearly di..." Daenerys put her hand on his lips. "I know. I was there, remember?" she said quietly. "When I was carrying Rhaella. We were at war. I was assaulted" When she said that, her husband flinched and she could tell that he had a growing knot of anger in his gut. Her hands then settled onto his and she pulled them close to her heart. "I will be fine, this baby will be fine. We will be fine" she said reassuringly. Jon looked at her and smiled. "A boy?" he whispered as his eyes fell on her belly. Daenerys smiled back at him. "I know it" she whispered quietly. "I'm looking forward to having another little boy" she admitted. Jon let go of her hands and caressed the side of her face. "Me too" he said quietly. "I think they'll enjoy a little brother" he said as he turned to check on his sleeping children once more. "Ned needs a brother to talk to" he said as he looked back at his wife. Daenerys nodded in agreement. She then stood to pour herself a glass of water, and her husband a glass of wine. "Why are you concerned about the birth of the dragons?" she asked as she walked towards him with their glasses in her hands. Jon took a deep breath before he answered. "Sam" he whispered. "Sam?" she repeated. "Yes, Sam. When I returned from beyond the wall. He told me that the comet was a sign of magic being brought back into the world. Your dragons, my queen. Are magic" he said confidently. Daenerys continued to watch him. To listen carefully to what he was saying. When I saw that comet in the sky, that same night, I saw a white walker" he said bluntly. A sense of fear and doubt growing in his stomach. "Jon" she began. A slight sound of humour in the tone of her voice. The king took a sip of his drink. "Please, just let me explain..." he said as he placed the glass on the table beside him. "I'm worried. That with the birth of these dragons, it could also mean the return of the walkers. Think about it Dany. It had been a thousand years since the birth of your dragons. Same as the walkers. What if they return? There is no wall. There are no men that could fight again, most are children whose fathers died at war. Children. Just like ours.

We need to strengthen our defences. We need to prepare ourselves. Our kingdom. Our people" he said as he turned to face her. She then realised that what he was speaking was the absolute truth. Daenerys wasn't going to not believe him again. She wanted to give him comfort, but for once in her life. She didn't know what to say. Daenerys opened her mouth and then closed it again. Jon looked at her and grinned. "I know" he whispered. "All I do is brood and worry. That is what I am most good at" he said as he grabbed his glass of wine and drank its contents. Daenerys shook her head. "That's not what I was thinking at all. I was thinking about how someone could be so selfless. You are so selfless Jon. You think about others, before yourself. Most people. Especially members of my family. If they had three dragons, born to them. They would immediately think of ways they could use them to benefit themselves. But you. You automatically thought of the wellbeing of the seven kingdoms. Of everyone living under our reign" she said as she moved closer to him. "You are a true, protector of the realm and that is what I love most about you" she whispered as Jon brought his hands up to her face once more. "I do this for you" he said as he caressed the side of her face with the back of his hand. "I do it for them" he said as he looked back at his sleeping children once more. "I do it for him" he said as he brought his hand down, resting it on her growing belly. "I know" she whispered as she held her hand on top of his. For a moment they just stared at each-other. Looking deep into each-other's eyes. Daenerys didn't know what he was thinking about. But, she couldn't help but think of everything they have overcome and how perfect these last four years have been. Eddard would be four this year. Rhaella three, and now this child. She was told that she would never have children. Now, here she is. With child with her third... Her thoughts were interrupted as her husband leaned down to kiss her belly. "This child is going to be big" he said as he pushed himself off of the seat and kneeled in front of her. "I can't wait to meet him" he whispered as Daenerys ran her fingers through his hair. "I know. He feels a lot bigger and heavier than both Ned and Rhaella" she whispered as she moved herself up as Jon raised her gown so that he could see her bare belly. Luckily the room was fire lit and warm. She watched as his eyes moved around her bare, porcelain skin. His eyelashes blinking slowly as he placed a kiss on her belly. Her hands still tangled in his hair. His hands massaging her stomach, Jon wanting so much for his child to move for him. It was in this very moment that Daenerys figured out what he was trying to do. "He's asleep" she whispered quietly. Jon leaned forward and kissed her belly once more. "You should be too" he said as he carefully fixed her gown, then placing his hands on the side of her as he stood. "Let's go to bed" he whispered as he held his hand out in front of him. Daenerys smiled back at him and took his hand immediately...
