He woke in a pool of sweat. His room. Pitch black. Ned looked around and lit one of the candles on his bedside table. Light came into his room and he saw her. He saw his sister. Asleep in her bed. A feeling of relief filling his entire body. He walked over to her and woke her at once. Rhaella looking up at him as she rubbed her eyes. An evident frown on her face. She hated it when she was woken up. It had been this way since she was a baby.
"Ned. What is it?" She asked as he just looked down at her. Shaking his head. "Nothing. Sorry" he whispered back. Rhaella sighed and turned away from him. Digging her head in her pillow. "Then go away" she said as she let sleep take her once more.
He looked down at her and smiled. His heart skipped a beat. He was relieved. He then looked around the room and saw his brothers, asleep in their cribs. Ned realised that they were in Kings Landing. He then heard footsteps and voices. Ned stood in front of his sister's bed, to protect her from the people on the other side of their chamber. He then realised, that he has seen all of this before. Ned knew, that his dream was anything but. He had had a vision. Was he like his uncle? Or different. He didn't know. All he knew was that there were two women on the other side of that door. They would come in, ask him what he was doing up. Then they would argue with each other. They were sent to assassinate the King and the Queens children. But, they did not want to do it while he was awake. They wanted to do so, while they slept. Ned knew that they would have this conversation in front of him. Not knowing that GreyWorm was sitting in the seat in the corner. And that his Aunt was on the other side of the door. If this was true. He decided to call to her.
"Aunt Arya?" Ned whispered. He hoped that he would be wrong, because if he was right. It would mean that Rhaella would be killed in war. He took a slow blink of confirmation when his aunt stepped out of the shadows...
"Go back to bed Ned. I'm watching over you. GreyWorm is here. You will be safe" she said as she stepped back into darkness
Ned did as he was told. Surely it was a coincidence. If he was right about the handmaidens, then he would tell his aunt of his vision and hope that she would believe him.
He lay in his bed and turned to face Rhaella. Unable to forget the look on his mother and fathers faces when she had died in her arms. Unable to forget the last mama she had told their mother before she drew her last breath. If his dream was in fact a vision. He hoped that someone would believe him. He had never seen his father so heartbroken, or his mother so angry and lost. He hoped to never, see them hurt like that, again.Ned had decided that he didn't want to stay in his bed alone. For once, it would be him that would sneak into his siblings bed. Just as he stood to walk across to Rhaella, the door to his chamber opened, and in walked the two handmaidens, frowning and making their way to him immediately. The door closing and locking behind them.
"What are you doing awake? You should be asleep" the eldest of the two, Delia spat. Ned stood in front of his sisters bed and stared at them. He did not say a word.
"Do it. Go do it!" The youngest of the two, Nara spat. "No" Delia said as she held her hand up. "We were told to kill the eldest first. Then the girl. Then the twins" she said as she walked towards the twins.
"I don't want to kill them while they're awake. He should be asleep" Delia said as she looked at her friend. The both of them, doing exactly what Ned said they'd do. He watched Nara put her hands on her brothers crib, fear striking his heart.
"Don't touch them" Ned spat as he took a step forward. The two women, laughing at him.
"I now know why they told us to kill the oldest first. You're just like your mother, aren't you!?" Nara said as she walked towards Ned, reaching out to caress his head as Delia took the blanket off of Robb. "He told you, not to touch them" GreyWorm said as he wasted no time. He cut her throat in an instant. Nara looked back and reached out to grab Ned as a hostage. She was too slow. Ned shuffled back and stood next to Rhaella' bed. The noise waking her up at once. The both of them, watching their aunt move her out of their vision in a swift motion. Once she was out of the sight of her brothers children, she told Nara that Ned was more like his father, before she cut her throat. Both handmaidens, were now, dead.
