Alec has been dead for two years now, him and Magnus were happily married until Alec was killed, strangled to death by someone who they thought they could trust, Jonathan. Magnus has finally been able to move on and be happy again, but what happens...
Magnus reached his hand in and it wavered over the contents of what the casket contained.
"It's full of dust and bugs, ugh" Jace exclaimed
"Dude, not the time" Simon said as he hit Jace on the chest
Whilst those two were having a disagreement Magnus had taken something out the casket.
"What's that?" Jace asked
"I'm not sure" Magnus said as he began to swipe all the dust and mud off. Once he did that he got a clear look on what he had found.

"What the hell" Jace said "Is this a joke or something, is someone trying to torment us with old memories or whatever. Cause if they are it's not FUNNY" he yelled looking all around
"What on earth is all this stuff" Simon said as he picked up another photo "Are these seriously all old photos from the past"

"I think they are" Magnus said tracing his finger over the photo he had
"Okay am I the only one who has a bad feeling about this, like why the hell would someone put photos in a coffin I mean it's just plain stupid. Plus the person that did it is probably trying to mess with our brains and I ugh...I have had...I don't even know-" Jace stopped talking when a certain photo caught his eye.

"I remember this day" Jace whispers and his voice cracks slightly
"What?" Magnus hadn't realised Jace had picked up a photo until he looked up to see Jace holding it with tears threatening to spill
"Jace" Simon said laying his hand on Jace's shoulder showing he's there for him
"Mom took it after our first fight lesson, I forgot about it until now" Jace said
"Magnus" Simon said holding out a photo
"She was 4 months when we took this, she'd been crying all day and we were finally able to get her to sleep" Magnus chuckled slightly

"Alec looks relieved" Jace said
"He was"
"I'm sorry to interrupt this beautiful moment but..." Simon began "Theres no body"
Jace and Magnus instantly looked up, the pictures had totally distracted them from the real reason they were here.
"Then that must mean-" Magnus began
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves yet, for all we know he could just be somewhere else" Jace said
"Yeah, But we need to tell people that he might be alive" Magnus stated
"Magnus we need more proof" Simon said
"We have a casket with no body in it, what more proof do we need to start a search" Magnus said
"Mags, I'm sorry to tell you this but I agree with Si, let's just slow down for a second and catch our breath before running about claiming he's alive"
"I'm sorry, it's just an empty casket, that must mean there's a chance he's alive right?" Magnus asked
"I mean it could be" Jace said
"Jace come on, I thought you'd be excited about this. All those years that we've wished that he could come back and now there's a slight chance that he could be and you wanna slow down, I mean come on" Magnus said
Simon and Jace both looked at one another and gave each other this look, and it seemed like they were communicating without having to use any words.
"Fine" Simon said
"But on one condition" Jace said holding up one finger
"Sure, whatever" Magnus said
"We only tell one person, we can't tell everybody in this town, they'll think we're crazy" Jace said
"Okay, who do we tell?" Magnus asked
"Theres only one obvious answer I can think of" Jace said
"Oh no, we can't, we cannot drag him into this, I won't take that, we'll have to think of someone else...." Magnus stated

"So will you help us?" Jace asked after explaining the situation after getting home (Magnus' house)
He just sat there he didn't know was to say, he was completely speechless.
"Hello? Earth to Stiles" Jace waves his hand in front of Stiles' face
"Yeah sorry I'm just trying to take it all in, I mean are you guys sure?" Stiles asked
"We're 98% sure he's alive" Simon said
"But there's also that 2% chance that he isn't alive" Stiles said
Magnus had just been sat on a couch this entire time, the one person he didn't want involved in all of this has been involved.
"Magnus what's your opinion on this whole thing I mean not to be a dick about it but coming back from the dead it's not possible" Stiles said
"Look Stiles if there was even only 1% chance of Alec being alive over 99% chance of him being dead, I'd go with the 1% cause I still got hope" Magnus said standing up
"So you think he could be alive?" Stiles asked
"I know" Magnus said
