"What's now or never?" Magnus asked
"Oh you know, uh...." Stiles scratched the back of his head trying to think of what to say next "Anyone need a drink, I could do with a drink" Stiles turned around, to be met with Scott's serious face and his arms crossed over his chest
"Turn around" Scott told him and Stiles slowly did so
"I'm sorry" Stiles said
"For what?" Magnus asked but Stiles stayed quiet looking down at his shoes "Stiles you're kind of scaring me here" Magnus said with an unsure half-laugh
"For what I'm about to say" Stiles said
"Dude just spit it out" Jace said
"Jace!" Simon hit him on the chest "Shut up, give him a chance man" Jace held his hands up and sighed a 'sorry'
"What I'm about to say, I don't blame any of you if you hate me or don't wanna see my face again"
"Stiles, nothing you could say would make me hate you" Magnus reassured Stiles
"Okay, but I just want you to know what I did, I did it cause I was scared of what you'd do if you found out, and because I love you" Stiles said looking directly at Magnus
"Stiles? What did you do?" Magnus asked a little concerned
"I uh...remember when I had to go for my observation?"
"Yeah, of course" Magnus nodded
"Well you know when I told you about the person I ran into?"
"The guy from your past, yeah" Magnus said
"I didn't tell you the whole truth about what happened whilst I was down there" Stiles voice began to get quieter
"Stiles, please tell me you didn't..." Magnus started thinking of all sorts of scenarios
"No, no, nothing like that, nothing happened between us whilst I was down there" Stiles picked up his voice "I lied when I said that it wasn't anyone important, that you wouldn't care" Stiles began playing with his fingers; it was his nervous tick, he could never get rid of it.
"Stiles? You're nervous, it's okay I'm here. But to be honest I kinda wanna know more about this guy now so..." and that's one of the many reasons Stiles hated his tick because people like Magnus picked up on it
"I'm not gonna ask you to promise not to hate me, cause I know you will after I tell you, and who knows it could only be for awhile, or it could be forever. But I can't hold it in anymore, this secret, it's slowly killing me. It's getting so bad it's up to the point where I'm beginning to get panic attacks again"
"Stiles why didn't you tell me that you were having panic attacks again?" Magnus asked concerned
"Because I knew once you knew I was having them again, you'd wanna know what's happening with me. And I just wasn't sure what you'd think about everything, and I was scared" Stiles said
"You keep saying that, scared about what Stiles?" Magnus asked
"Scared that you'd leave me" Stiles blurted out
"What?" Magnus was totally shocked he would think that "I can't believe that you would think that I would ever leave you just because of some secret, I would never, ever leave you" Magnus got up and held Stiles hands still between his own hands
"You might be thinking totally different things in a minute" Stiles said
"Does that mean he's finally gonna say what he's been trying to say for the last.." Jace looked at his watch "5 minutes" he whispered to Simon
"I know I told you to shut up earlier but I'm pretty much agreeing with you right now, plus I would really love to have that drink around about now" Simon replied
"Guys!" Magnus said shutting them up "Stiles you can tell me it's okay, you don't need to be scared around me"
"I uh..." Stiles started turning around to Scott, he just nodded his head to Stiles telling him to go on "You know the person I saw" Stiles held his head down
"Okay" Magnus said
"Alec" Stiles whispered
"What?" Magnus asked not hearing him
"Alec" Stiles spoke up
"What about Alec?" Magnus asked
"I saw him at the cafe" Stiles said
"What!?!?"
"Magnus I-I wanted to tell you so bad I just-"
"Wait are you telling me that you saw my brother and you knew he was alive and you didn't tell any of us" Jace cut Stiles off standing up
"Yeah, but-"
"But what?" Jace exclaimed
"I just... I didn't know how to tell you, I was scared of what you'd all say" Magnus had let go of Stiles' hands at this point and had collapsed back down onto the couch
"You lied" Magnus spoke
"Magnus I didn't...I just I don't know what I was thinking" Stiles took a step towards Magnus
"That doesn't explain why you kept it a secret" Simon spoke up from his spot on the couch
"Look I don't agree with what Stiles did, and why he did it, but I'm sure he had the best of intentions at the time" Scott spoke up for his best friend
"Oh my...you-you said-" Magnus started not being able to get his words out
"Magnus?" Stiles asked looking at Magnus who had his head in his hands and rubbing his eyes.
