I groaned as I shifted on my bed. Tinabunan ko ang tenga ko gamit ang unan but the damned phone just keeps on ringing. I huffed and grudgingly answered it from my bedside table without looking on the caller's ID.
"Give me a good reason why you're calling me early in the morning then maybe I won't kill you" I growled trying to fight the haziness off as I dove my face into the softness of my pillow. I inhaled the lavender scent from it.
"oh, is that how you greet your boss Miss Chitoge?" a male voice suddenly cuts me off my fantasy.
I froze and cleared my throat as I instinctively stood straight.
Well, its been a long time since we had communicated. But, anong kailangan niya sa ganitong oras?
"What do you want?" diretsong tanong. Tinutukan ko nalang ang kakaibang pattern sa ceiling ko habang naghihintay sa sagot niya.
"Its been 2 months since you had filed a 3 months leave, right?" biglaan niyang tanong na ipinagtaka ko. Don't tell me that this is heading to where I think it's heading? Okay self. Don't ask questions you don't want to hear the answer to.
"Actually, it's been just 1 month and 21 days since then" I corrected as my brows furrow. I waited for his next words.
"Yeah, I know, I know, but, we badly want you back in the agency right now" biglang seryoso niyang sabi. I nearly groaned. Tama nga ang hinala ko. I don't want to yet.
"Why?" I sighed almost whining. You can't blame me, this is my first vacation since forever!
"May isang komplikadong misyon ang kailangang gawin" tugon niya in the same authorative calm voice.
"So?" I inquire as I checked my nails. I haven't fully enjoyed my small vacation yet.
"Kailangan ka namin, ikaw lang ang makagagawa nito, ikaw ang pinakamagaling na agent na saktong sakto para dito" paliwanag niya. I watched as the light from the sun slowly crept into my room through the curtain.
I frowned and heaved a sigh. Totoo nga ang sinabi ni Spiderman. With great power comes with great responsibility.
"How about miss Brooklyn?, alam mo naman diba na mahilig siyang mang agaw ng mga assignments ko? Sabihin mo nalang na gusto ko yang misyon na yan, tingnan mo diba magkakandarapa na yan" I suggested hopefully. Gusto ko pa talaga magpahinga at magladlad. I haven't done these things for years already. It's like I haven't even lived my life. It's also like I'm an alien in my own world already.
Tamad ako ngayon, lalo na sa last mission ko na dakpin ang isang most wanted criminal, drug dealer, at rapist salamat nalang sa ganda ko at nabitag siya, kaya nga nag file ako ng leave, to get away from all the stress, and it has been really amazing.I spent all my days in bed, watching Netflix movies, eating and most importantly hindi na kailangang maligo. Like shit ipananganak tayo na walang ligo, so di naman siguro tayo mamamatay pag di naligo duh.
"Wala rin si miss Brooklyn bigla nalang siyang naglaho, yet we tried every ways to contact her but still there was no trace of her, we're even now worried, so we have no choice but to disturb you" He cleared his throat. Napairap ako ng palihim.
Asan naman kaya ang gaga? Si Ivy Brooklyn isa sa mga katunggali ko sa SIA, palagi kasi akong kinakalaban at inaartehan kahit wala akong
kasalanan sa kanya. Warfreak lang talaga siya.
Ang SIA ay para lang kapatid ng CIA isang secret organization ng gobyerno na dumadakip ng mga high valued drug dealers at iba pang matatas na criminal. Pero limit lang ang nakakaalam sa agency namin because we work underground only.
Ano ang meaning ng SIA? It just means Secret Intelligence Association pero ang tawag lang samin ay "Black Knights". Isa rin kaming sekretong organisasyon pero ang pagkakaiba lang naman ay ang pinupunterya namin ay mga matataas na gangs or groups ng mga matataas na kriminal na may kinalaman sa human and sex trafficking and drug dealing. Minsan tumatanggap rin naman kami ng mga misyon ukol sa drug lords or serial killers na hindi na kaya ng CIA dahil napaka delikado at komplikado. If you think you know everything about the government and its works, then you're thinking wrong.
"So, payag ka na?" tanong niya, a hint of hope laced on his voice. I paused for a second.
"Well-" I trail off.
"Ibibigay ko sayo ang mga latest na gadgets natin ngayon! Promise!" putol niya sakin suddenly becoming desperate.
Haha alam niya talaga ang mga gusto ko. I smirked slightly.
"and?"
"Dodoblehin ko ang sahod mo" dugtong niya tapos napa buntong hininga.
Aba, kailangan talaga, inisturbo kaya niya ako.
"So, is it a deal?" paniniguradong tanong niya.
"Okay, deal" sagot ko as I sighed.
"Great, in my office 1:00 pm sharp"seryoso niyang saad.
Na cucurious tuloy ako, ano ba kasi tungkol ang misyon na to? At mukhang desperado na si boss.
"K, I'll be there" sambit ko tapos in-end call na. Umupo ako pabalik at tiningnan ko ang orasan ko.
Shit! 12:23! Grabe naman pala ang tulog ko, oh well, better get ready before he lash out his dragons on me for being late.
I jumped out of bed. I spread and extended my arms in the air as I stretched. Yawning, I got my towel from the nook and made my way to the bathroom.
Ano ba talaga kasi ang misyon na to?
