"I can't fear death, no longer. I have died a thousand times."

- Bring me the horizon - Hospital for souls

Third person

Void. Typically means a completely empty space.

Void. Filled with darkness.

Void. Destroying your soul, leaving you boneless and defenseless, in the clutches of your demons.

Demons, who wait for you to walk into the shadows. Walk up to them.

And you cannot help but slip. Like sand from between your fingers. Like water down the mountains.

"What in the name of fuck, is going on here?" Leone whispered into the quite night, confusion crowding his cerulean oceans.

After a night of mingling with his extended Famiglia and catching up on his missed time, he finally decided to retreat back into his sanctuary, where his demons hid.

Where he fought everyday when the dusk fell, for them to finally let him catch his breath and stare into the eyes of light, questioning.

But today, when he stepped forward expecting to be engulfed in the flames of hell, it seemed that his demons were silenced.

The silence made his heart go on an euphoric overdrive.

Just a few steps further and he found his little sister and the girl from airport snuggled on his couches, the throws offering them the right kind of warmth. His feet crunched the pizza boxes that sprawled proudly on his clean marbles. And he instantly scrunched his face in utter confusion.

He was shocked that somebody, anybody went back on his orders and entered his room. Not only shocked but also amused that the daredevils thought that there's no price to pay.

Well, they shall see.

But above all, he was, dare I say, scared. No, terrified. Terrified that, they will pull the covers away, revealing the demons, and skeletons he hid beneath his skin.

The realisation made him see red, of danger as well as anger and he launched a glass of chilled water on his sister's flushed face, waking her up in less than a heartbeat.

"Che cosa? Che cosa?" Regina screamed, panicked.

Her scream fell short when her unsteady gaze landed on her furious looking fratello. She tried to gulp her fear down and put on her big girl pants.

Tried.

Well, when you have a fire Spitting dragon, I mean Leone breathing down your delicate neck, you cannot help but want the earth to split up and eat you, whole. It's at least better than Leone, puncturing your internal organs with fear.

The whole fiasco woke Roseiliana up harshly. As if slapped, she sat up straight, staring at the giant man occupying the space.

"Oh god!" Shocked, she sent a prayer up towards the heaven.

"Umm, ciao Leone." Regina squeaked out and ran towards the elevator doors Roseiliana following closely behind.

Leone for a minute stood there, trying to reason. But he drew up blank.

"Domani mattina." Leone growled out a promise into the night.

When he made way towards his bed, his feet halted and his heart thudded against his ribs, violently.

He recognised who those raven waves that scattered around his pillow, belonged to.

Waves, that tied him to sanity.
