Ch. 12 Vacation Time

Sofia POV
So we went to a few more cities that Pentatonix performed at. I feel asleep on the tour bus to our next destination.

Kevin: Sweetheart, wake up.

I wake up.

Sofia: Yeah, daddy.
Kevin: We are here.
Sofia: Where are we?
Avi: We are in North Carolina.
Sofia: Oh no.

I ran to the back of the bus, closed the door, and I started crying.

Kevin POV
Oh no. I'm trying to figure out what's wrong.

Kevin: Sofia wait!

We ran behind her, but the door was shut.

Kevin: Sofia, sweetie. Talk to me.
Sofia: I don't wanna.

I hate seeing her upset.

Kevin: Guys, what are we gonna do?
Mitch: Let me talk to her. You guys go to the hotel and I'll handle it.
Avi: Thank you Mitch.

Mitch POV
I went to the back of the bus and knocked on the door.

Mitch: Sofia? It's me. Can we talk?
Sofia: Okay.

She opens the door and we went up to the front to talk.

Mitch: Okay, tell me what's wrong?
Sofia: Well, this is where I stayed at around the time my parents died. All the bad memories are coming back.

She starts to cry in my arms.

Mitch: Shhhhhhh. It's okay, sweetie don't cry. We are only gonna be here for 2 days because we perform here and then in Atlanta next. We can leave if you want to.
Sofia: No it's okay. I'm sorry Auntie Mitch.
Mitch: No need to apologize.
Sofia: Where's daddy?
Mitch: He's in the hotel.
Sofia: Is he mad at me?
Mitch: Of course not. He will never be mad at you. He is worried though.
Sofia: Oh okay. I think I should go talk to him.
Mitch: Okay, come on let's go.

So we left off the bus and went inside the hotel to go to the room.

Sofia POV
Soon Auntie Mitch and I mad it to the room. I immediately ran over to daddy and gave him a hug.

Sofia: I'm sorry daddy.
Kevin: No need to apologize sweetheart.
Sofia: I just got carried away.
Kevin: No need to explain to me.
Sofia: So you aren't mad.
Kevin: No. I love you.
Sofia: I love you too.

Everyone came in and we had a group hug.

Sofia: So what are we doing here?
Scott: Well, Esther just texted me that we are here a day earlier than we thought so we have a day off.
Sofia: I guess this is like a vacation.
Avi: You can say that. What do you want to do?
Sofia: Well, for starters I would like to go to the beach.
Kirstin: That's sounds like fun.
Kevin: Looks like we having a vacation then.
Sofia: What are we for, let's go.

So we got our stuff to go to the beach.
Few minutes later we made it to the beach.

Sofia: Aunt Kirstie can you help me put on my swimsuit?
Kirstin: Sure, sweetie. We'll be right back boys.

So Aunt Kirstie and I went into the bathroom to change.
(Sofia's Outfit)

Sofia: Hey, Aunt Kirstie.
Kirstin: What is it sweetie?
Sofia: You want to know what I wished for on my birthday.
Kirstin: Umm...okay. What was it?
Sofia: I wished that you and daddy can be together.

Kirstin POV
Okay. I would have thought it would say something else.

Kirstin: Sweetheart, I'm not sure if Kevin is interested in me.
Sofia: Oh come on. I know he is.

Then she goes inside my bag and pulls out a swimsuit for me to wear.

Sofia: Here. Wear this. He's gonna flip.

Scott POV
Kevin, Mitch, Avi, and I had already changed into our swim trucks and we are waiting for the girls.

Scott: Hey, Kevo when are you gonna ask Kirstie out?
Kevin: You know too.
Mitch: Please, all of us. You can't hide from us.
Avi: Yeah man when are you gonna do it?
Kevin: When the time is right. Chill guys.

Kevin POV
A few minutes later I see Sofia runs to me.

Sofia: Hey daddy.
Kevin: Hey kiddo. You look cute.
Sofia: Thanks daddy. Wait till you see Aunt Kirstie.

She points to Kirstin and she has me speechless. She looks amazing.

Sofia POV
Aunt Kirstie comes to where we are at on the beach and daddy is starstruck.

Mitch: Yass Kirstie you better work it girl. Slay.
Kirstin: Thanks Mitch.
Scott: OMG! You look gorgeous.
Avi: Yeah. You look amazing.
Kirstin: Aww. Thanks guys.

Kirstin POV
Kevin is still speechless and I'm a little scared.

Sofia: Daddy aren't you gonna say anything?
Kevin: What?
Sofia: Aren't you gonna say anything to Aunt Kirstie?
Kevin: Yeah um. Kirstie you look..wow.
Kirstin: Thanks Kevin.

Kevin POV
I'm still starstruck by Kirstin. What happened between those two in the bathroom? At this point, I don't even wanna know.

Sofia: Uncle Scottie, Uncle Avi, and Auntie Mitch, how about we go to the water?
Avi: Sure.
Kevin: So you are just gonna leave us?
Sofia, Avi, Scott, Mitch: Yeah.

Great. Just what I needed.
Just before they went in the water. Sofia taps me and whispers in my ear.

Sofia: Ask her out.

Then she runs to the water. I can't believe she knew too. I have a pretty smart kid.
