Ch. 19 Happy Gotcha Day

Sofia POV
It's been almot a year since daddy adopted me. My life has been perfect ever since. It doesn't feel like it's been a year. I love Pentatonix being my family. They have been amazing to me and there has never been a dull moment. Plus, Aunt Kirstie and daddy are officially together. To be honest, I would like it for Aunt Kirstie to be my mom. I know the time will come soon. I can feel it.
Now daddy is coming to pic me up from school.

Sofia: Daddy!

I ran and hugged him.

Kevin: Hey, baby girl. How was school today?
Sofia: It was great.
Kevin: That's good.

So daddy and I got into the car to head home.

Sofia: Daddy, do you know what's coming up soon?
Kevin: I don't know. What?
Sofia: In 3 days it's gonna make a year since you adopted me.

Kevin POV
I can't believe it. It's been a year already.

Kevin: No way! It's been one year already. It feel like it's been longer than that.
Sofia: I know.
Kevin: We have to celebrate that right?
Sofia: Right.

This is definitely gonna be a very special day for us because I can remember the day I adopted her. She was so an adorable little girl who has been through a lot in her life. But became a bundle of joy to me and my friends. Adopting her was the best day of our lives.
A few minutes later we made it home. Avi had let Kirstin, Scott, and Mitch in.

Kevin: Hey guys.
Everyone: Hey.
Mitch: How's our favorite girl?
Sofia: Good.
Kevin: Guys, guess what Sofia told me.
Scott: What?
Kevin: In 3 days it's gonna make a year since I adopted her.
Kirstin: No way!
Mitch: Are you serious? OMG!
Avi: It seem like just yesterday Kevin brought you here.
Sofia: I know. You guys have been the best family to me.
Everyone: Awwwww.
Scott: We have to celebrate this.
Kirstin: Oh yeah. It's a must.
Kevin: What should we do?
Sofia: Can we just celebrate here at home with another sleepover?
Avi: Not a bad idea.

So we planned for the weekend to celebrate.
I just thought of a name for it.

Kevin: I just thought of a name to call the day I adopted Sofia.
Mitch: What?
Kevin: Gotcha Day.
Everyone: Gotcha Day?!
Kevin: Yeah. It's better than saying Adoption Day.
Scott: He has a point.
Sofia: I like it.
Avi: Well, we name then.
Kirstin: Let's start planning.

So we all began to plan and ask Sofia what she wants to do at the sleepover and she tells us.

Sofia POV
The weekend has come and it's Gotcha Day. I woke up bright and early and I go to daddy's room and wake him up. I climb on the bed and shake him.

Sofia: Psst. Daddy! Wake up! Wake up!

Kevin POV
I feel someone shake me. I open my eyes and it's Sofia.

Kevin: Hey, kiddo. What you doing up so early?
Sofia: Today is Gotcha Day daddy.

I sat up in the bed and I sit Sofia on my lap.

Kevin: Yes it is. Happy Gotcha Day!
Sofia: Happy Gotcha Day!

We both hugged. I can't believe today makes exactly one year since I adopted her.

Kevin: Are you excited?
Sofia: I am.
Kevin: I'm glad. Let's get dressed so we can have some fun. Scott, Mitch, and Kirstie will be here soon.
