Leo

I watched the clock like Percy eyed blue cookies.

3...2...1

The bell rang and I lept from my seat at a supersonic speed. I dodged students and teachers left and right till I reached my locker.

I grabbed all my school supplies while stuffing them in my backpack. Lastly, I took out a tool belt and a small golden box. Stashing them under my arm I made my way out to the field behind school.

Calypso was sitting near the woods looking peaceful in the afternoon sun. Her hair was braided to the side and she was wearing light blue jean shorts and a plain white shirt.

"Hey Sunshine ready to go?"

"Ok course. Just stay away from me when you wake Festus up."

"Wow really funny. He won't vibrate like last time. I repaired the circuits remember?" I didn't wait for a reply. Instead, I took a few steps back before putting the gold box on the ground. I punched a little button on the side and stepped back. The box rumbled and started to grow, unfolding and moving until a gold dragon stood before me.

"Hey buddy, how you doing?"

Festus just tilted his head and snorted a cloud of smoke and fire into my face.

"Yeah, yeah, I know you don't like being a box, but I can't walk around with my dragon can I?

Festus just turned his head up. Talk about love.

"Do you feel like giving us a lift? Oil and tabasco sauce when your done."

He looked at me as if considering it before lowering his back and allowing me and Calypso to climb on.

"We're heading north buddy. Sound good?"

As a response Festus launched into the air with enough speed to pull the skin on my face back.

It felt amazing to be free again and I couldn't help but let out a whoop of pleasure.

Festus did a loop once we reached the clouds before turning and heading north. I didn't have to worry about much. Festus knew where we were going. I just relaxed into him feeling the hum of his gears and wires.

We flew for an hour before circling and landing. Calypso and I slid of Festus, some of us more gracefully than others.

"Ok bud. Feel free to fly around. If you hear a explosion, screaming or my whistle come get us though."

I mean it as a joke, but Calypso gave me the evil eye anyway.

We walked to the street and I looked at my demigod phone. I'm awesome, leave it to the Micshizzle to come up with a monster proof phone.

"The reading is from a block away. It's smaller, but it has a lot of build up."

"Let's get going then. I still have homework to do."

I look over at her. "You know school is just a cover for our quest right?"

"I know, but it helps me adapt to your world."

I sometimes forget that Calypso is thousands of years old. "Sorry," I mumbled it out feeling slightly embarrassed.

She turned to me with a smile. "Don't be. I'm happy to be here with you, that's all that matters." She gave me a quick peck on the check. "Let's go find this magic now."

She turned and started walking up the street toward a building. I paled. Crap, a museum.

"Sunshine, do you know what that is?"

Calypso turned at looked at me with a questioning look.

"It's a museum. A place where mortals record history. That means we probably will walk through a huge Greek and Roman area if the magical object is their."

Calypso just shrugged. Well I guess that settles it then.

I ran to join her as we entered the building.

After paying for the tickets we followed the reading to, you guest it, the Greek and Roman section. We passed statues and carvings that looked old. I did enjoy one statue that looked like a super ripped and older Jason. I laughed at the plaque in Greek stating it was the "all mighty and just Zeus, King of the Gods."

As we walked we found a carving in stone showing the trails of Odysseus. In Greek the words of Homer stood out next to each scene. Calypso and I both stopped and looked at the point where Ogygia was depicted. A lady with long hair pulled back in a classic Greek style braid and a long white chiton. She was gazing longingly at a tall, muscled man with a beard. I felt a hole form in the pit of my stomach. I looked over at Calypso and saw tears streaming down her face.

"Are you ok Sunshine?"

Calypso turned to me and smiled softly. "I just-I just haven't seen anything like this. When you mentioned history I didn't think that this." She didn't finish the sentence. The tears continued to stream down her cheeks.

I hugged her as she started to sob. I felt her arms wrap around me and hold me close, as though I would leave at any minute.

"I'm here. I'm here. You have me. I'm never leaving you."

She just hugged me tighter before backing away. "I know. We should go." She wiped her tears off on the helm of her shirt. "Let's go."

I looked at her and lifted her chin to look at me. "Alright." I leaned down and quickly kissed her. It was short, but sweet and Calypso smiled.

We walked along the wall holding hands until Calypso stopped there. I turned and looked. Next to the wall stood a pedestal with a large stone on it. It was a covered in a few Greek symbols, but most of them where unfinished. I held up my phone and scanned the stone.

"This is it."

"A stone?"

"I guess. 'The glory of Hecate will forever live...' what does that mean?"

"I don't know, but I think we should definitely mark this down." I lifted my phone and took a picture. "I'll send this to Annabeth and see what she thinks."

Calypso just nodded.

"You ready to head home?"

"Yes. I think I'll go to bed when we get home. My homework can wait."

We walked out to the street and down to the woods outside the town. I whistled for Festus and he soon appeared.

"Hey bud, ready to go home?"

He wire led his teeth and looked at me.

"Yes, yes, I will get you the motor oil when we get home."

He bent down and Calypso climbed on followed my me. He took off and Calypso held on to me. I usually didn't mind, but she clung tighter than usual. I hope she is alright, I don't know what I'd do without my sunshine.
