"Let me get this straight- or gay in your case- you cheated on Francis with-"
"Ok ok we've been over this. I get it. I cheated on Francis with Reynolds. He set me up just like Maria did" John huffed, rolling his eyes
"Geez John how do you attract all the psychopaths?" I teased
"Name three."
"Easy. Francis, Reynolds, Charles-"
"I said three!" He cut me off before I could say more
"The list goes on~" I continued to tease
He slapped me lightly. I pushed him playfully in return.
"How do you stay so calm?" I asked out of nowhere
"What do you mean?" He asked, raising an eyebrow in confusion
"Everything you've lost. How do you stay so calm?"
"I've been losing things my whole life. It's a normal" he shrugged
"John that's not right! Losing things shouldn't just be a normal."
"I lost my sister, my brother, my dad, my mom, my adopted family, and I lost you" He said "not to mention Francis."
"You didn't lose me" I said hugging him
"Yes I did. You're just the one person that came back." He hugged me back
How could someone like John be hurting so bad without anyone knowing. He's not exactly a closed off person. He has a lot of friends and people he can talk to.
"Why didn't you talk to me?" I asked
"It's not your problem" he said shortly
"If I knew you were hurting this badly I would've done something more!"
"I'm fine, really."
"John you're not fine. You can't hide this kind of stuff anymore" I was about to cry
How could John hurt so much and not tell anyone!
"You don't deserve this" I sighed. He shrugged.
"John! How does anyone deserve what you've gone through??!"
"Don't yell at me.."
"I'm sorry...I just hate that you've been hurting so much" I said softer. He nodded. I kissed him lightly "you can talk to me"

"I gave it to him. You need to talk to him too." I said to Francis. John hid behind me, still terrified of Francis.
"Fine." Francis turned to John. I felt John's grip on my arm tighten.
"John I'm so sorry. I mean it. What I did was fucked up but I really do love you and I just want you to be happy" he said in a tone I've never heard him use
John looked shaken. I've seen him with that look too much lately.
"Can we try and be friends again?" He asked
"I-......y-yeah" John hugged Francis
Francis was- crying? Is that even possible? He had a few tears rolling down his cheeks at least....I think he can cry. Wow that's new.
"We can be friends but I'm happy with Alex and I want to stay with him" John cleared up.
