I woke up the next day to the sun bursting through my window. It spread through the room easily and left everywhere glowing. It was an absolutley brilliant light.

This was lovely to wake up to and I lay there contently for a moment until I realised the perculiarity of the situation. It was never usually this bright at this time in the morning. Only around midday, when the sun was at it's peak.

This had me curious, so I rolled out of bed reluctantly and dragged myself downstairs so I could inspect the morning sky.

Upon arriving in the garden, I found the sun directly overhead and the sky as clear as day. It was a picturesque scene of beauty and I felt like I'd never seen such a beautiful day. I couldn't recall a day as beautiful in recent years.

I sighed and absorbed the day. I didn't want to lose this moment, standing in the garden, on the perfect day, feeling immersed in happiness.

My life wasn't perfect, but in this moment, it was very close.

I would have happily stood there forever, but life has a way of changing in an instant and in that instant, I was summoned when the doorbell rang.

For a moment, I remained where I was, absorbing the beauty for a moment longer, before headng towards the door. I didn't know who it would be, especially as it was a Wednesday. It was Olga's free day and usually her and Ramallo would go out and Violetta would have just arrived at school.

I swung open the door and was greeted by a smiling Nathan.

It was only in that moment when I remembered the state I was in. My bedhead left curls falling down my face and my old, thread-bear pyjamas were hanging from me.

"Nathan." I said exasperated, "What are you doing here? Your shift doesn't begin until tweleve."

Nathan smiled, "Well, if you'd like I can stand out here for another two minutes."

"What?" I said confused.

Nathan held out his hand in front of me and I looked at his watch.

Eleven fifty eight.

My jaw dropped and I didn't know what to say.

"But, I don't.. I always.. What." I said, not able to form a logical sentence.

Nathan let out a small laugh.

"Are you okay?"

I shook my head, "Not at all, but you best come inside."

He came in quickly and gently shut the door behind him.

I began to run over my thoughts. I always wake up at nine. That's why I don't set alarms, because my bodily clock is always perfect, but for some reason, today was an anomily. That would explain the sun too, it would be so bright if it was twelve and not nine. The sun was truly magnificent.

Nathan laughed and brought me from my trance.

"It seems your bodily clock is out of wack then."

I was shocked, had he read my mind?

"What?" I said exasperated.

"You said it all out loud." he said raising his eyebrows for effect.

Oh. Darn.

Nathan smiled even wider, "And that."

I sighed, bewildered by everything, but for some reason, the sigh lead into a laugh and it came naturally.

In that moment, it was as if I'd calmed myself by laughing and I felt exilarated again.

"But isn't the day lovely?"

I skipped outside and stood in my previous position in the centre of the garden.

Nathan followed me but waited at the door, smiling.

"It is."

I smiled at him.

"It's the most picturesque scene."

He kept his eye on me as he commented, "It truly is, the view from here, especially, is spectacular."

I ran over to the spot he was at and looked out, "I'm not sure, it's equally as beautiful from over there."

He smiled and shook his head, "You haven't seen it from the view I had."

I shrugged, not completely understanding his comment.

"I just think the day is beautiful." I said letting out a breath.

He ran his fingers through his hair and underneath his breath I heard him murmer,  "I can definately see the beauty in this garden."
