What era are you using for your story?
And no, no shunning of those who chose to be in the medieval era ;)
Also, do you choose an era and then write your story? OR do you start writing your story and then realize that maybe this era or that era would add something nice to your story?
I'm the latter. I'll be writing along and realize I need some inspiration for the kinds of clothes people are wearing. Since the vibe is old-fashioned and there are washer women, my mind goes to a small Victorian village.
Often once I include one Victorian era element, I end up returning to this era for further inspiration for other things like food or house structures to be consistent (if I feel like being consistent).
