There are times in life when we are really stressed, or depressed, or just feeling down, generally. So many things affect our emotions and mental well-being...
A year ago, this month, a car plowed into the side of my car while I was sitting in it, waiting at an intersection for the traffic to clear before I drove through. (Cover photo above) My car was trashed (as was the large one that hit into the front and side of it). The side had to be cut out for me to be extracted. This accident came from nowhere, and still, there seems no reason for it to have happened. Superficial were my injuries; deep went the shock of it.
It's times like that, and times — (like now for me, after recent surgery) — or other trauma or upheaval; perhaps a bereavement; that we pause and recount our lives — considering the past, the present and the near future. I'm finding I can't think much ahead of today...
Routine is helpful, but fatigue and a feeling of 'where am I going now?' is foremost.
Life savers — God's Promises... I can't get enough of them and am spending more time in the Scriptures than anything else other than resting, right now. So many promises, it's hard to know where to begin, which ones to share...
Most of all, the promise of Eternal Life is my joy - no matter what happens in my life, if I am sure of salvation in Jesus and that Heaven is my future home, what else can be of real concern other than the spiritual well-being of others, family, friends, neighbours, acquaintances... the world?
