It's now almost a week since I brought Twink home after his surgery.

He has been rather 'spoilt' since then. He rests a lot.

Fourteen 'bits' of teeth and some whole ones, were extracted, and it was good news that, although there were lots of cavities, the 'rot' did not go down into his gums

Fourteen 'bits' of teeth and some whole ones, were extracted, and it was good news that, although there were lots of cavities, the 'rot' did not go down into his gums. He still has between 8 and 10 back teeth that have had the plaque removed and are good for chewing his food.

The vet gave me a specimen jar with the teeth ... not sure why I took it home but here they are...

At first, he could not get food into his mouth, then, using his tongue he could scoop up chopped up bits of meat and softened doggie biscuits

A close friend very kindly gave me several packs of minced chicken for him and I opened one of them then put the rest in the freezer.

Poor little Twink could not 'bite' to get the raw chicken mince into his sore mouth. Although he was on pain-meds, he was unable to eat the mince.

Being creative, I found a good solution by mixing up some egg into a batter with whole flour and a little water and stirring the chicken into it. I added a little grated cheese and made these fritters. When they were cool, I cut them into smaller pieces which he could scoop up with his tongue and devour very happily.

Thanks to this kind friend, he is enjoying every meal now and I've added int he soaked dog biscuits and cut up meat as well

The pain meds are finished as well as his antibiotics

I thank the Lord, (who cares for all creatures) that Twink lived through this surgery and now gaining a new lease on life. God is indeed, very good.
