Chapter 1: The Trade

July, it was the time of the year where hockey fans were practicly pulling their hair out in fear that their favorite player might get lost to free agency, or just get traded. And because i was the Dallas star journalist it was my job to make sure I wrote about it all. But today everything was quiet in the hockey world, no new trades or contracts, nothing.

My boring old apartment couldnt entertain me much so I decided to take the elevator upstairs and visit Jamie. Yep, Jamie Benn of the dallas stars, he was my bestfriend.

"Hey Jamie" I say as I swing open his apartment door

"Just on time, dinner is ready" he smiles

"so did you meet with the new GM today?" I question as take a seat at the table. Being the journalist for the Stars, I was a big fan of them. Being Jamie Benn's best friend also played a part. Jamie nods at me to answer my question before sliding over a plate of pasta.

"I haven't herd any crazy ones" I say as I place a forkful of spaghetti into my mouth.

"Rumor has it, Seguin and someone else to dallas" I almost choke back on my pasta as the words escaped his mouth.

"Seguin? Of all the fucking guys?!"

"Nicola he's a good player and-"

"And nothing he's an asshole! You know how I can't stand guys like him. It's guys like that that ruin this leagues rep!"

"Calm down Nicola it doesn't matter it's not like you'll ever see him anyway"

"He's going to make a fool of this team Jamie" I roll my eyes at the thought of the kid here in Dallas.

"He'll just make a fool of himself" he sighs. Big shots like him didn't deserve a place in this league. If you're a professional you need to act like one, something Seguin doesn't do. I could care less about the things you do but once you get drafted into the NHL that's when it's time to mature as a person and player, no matter what age. Guys who couldn't make that change for the NHL got no respect from me, no mtter how good they were.

4th Of July

"Long summers suck ass" I say as I take a seat on Jamie's sofa, hinting at the lack of playoff appearances in the recent years.

"It's about to suck a whole lot more, well for you anyway" he says as he types on his phone

"For me?" I question

"Yea there was a trade...." He elongates his sentence, not daring to meet my eyes as he fumbles with his hands in his lap.

"Who?" I said nervously

"The whole trade is Seguin, Rich Peverley, and Ryan Button to Dallas for Eriksson, Joe Morrow, Reilly Smith, and Matt Fraser"

"Bruins players? We're getting 3 bruins players?" I yell

"I know you don't like the team and-"

"And they're nothing but low life pieces of garbage up there in Boston! They should've kept their fucking players" I muttered

"Nicola it could be our lucky break, we might finally make the playoffs this year"

"Wait a second read those names again, from the bruins"

"S-Seguin" he stutters and looks down again as he says the name causing it to be muffled but I can still make it out.

"Fuck this team, were fucked! He's like a 5 year old why the hell would any team even want him!" I was furious

"He's a good player, besides I bet he'll mature more in Dallas anyway" he says "and the kids what 21? He's gonna get over the partying stage or at least play better on the ice"

"This trade isn't gonna ruin my day! Let's go, were gonna be late for the barbecue tonight" I say as I drag him out of the apartment.

God, this was going to be and interesting year. I was defiantly going to miss Smith, he was a nice guy. But him for Seguin? It will never be right in my eyes. All Seguin knew how to do was party and get drunk, something I have never been interested in.

Bruins fans please be warned that there will be a lot of trash talking about your team, you were warned. Anyway short introductory chapter so you get a feel that Nicola doesn't particularly like the bruins or seguin.

Nicola- (Nick-a-la) is based off Nicola Peltz, an amazing actor. If you want to here the name pronunciation you can YouTube a few of her interviews:) The character is only based of Nicola Peltz's look not personality.
