Charlotte's POV:
"It's ridiculous. Like why does it even matter what we wear to school?" Jughead exclaims through the phone.
I finish painting my nails and grin.
They're now a pretty pastel pink color."I-I don't know Jug. Maybe it'll help people cool down about you guys being there."
Jughead scoffs. "Of course you'd take their side." He mumbles, making me feel guilty.
"Sorry Jug, you know I love you."
"Yeah, yeah. I love you too Charlotte." He says grumpily, but I can hear the smile in his voice. "Hey lover boy! I'm talking to your girl on the phone, wanna say hi?" I hear Jughead suddenly call out.
My eyebrows furrow. "Who are you talking to?"
I hear him chuckle as another voice shouts in the background. "Sweet Pea says hi." He tells me, making my cheeks turn red.
"T-Tell him I said hi too." I say shyly.
He repeats my words and says something else that I can't understand. "I gotta go. Serpent duty calls. I'll see you tomorrow in our brand new wardrobe." He says with fake excitement.
I giggle. "Bye Jug."
I kind of feel bad for all the Serpents. They don't deserve to be treated unfairly.
Principal Weatherbee isn't allowing the Serpents to wear their usual leather jackets. Since he knows not everybody from the Southside can afford Riverdale High acceptable clothes, he's forced them to wear the school uniform.
And they aren't very excited about it.
I finish slipping on my shoes before standing up and looking myself over in the mirror.
